I don't find him rude, just philosophically questioning...

I find that two different questions about the way the universe is are often conflated. The anthropic answer is a perfectly valid response to the question, "Why do we find ourselves in a universe with such regularities?". This is a different question from, "Why is it that our universe has such regularities?", IOW, "How does such a universe come about?"
