The use of federal tax funds for such a purpose is outrageous, but more importantly the government pushing of gay and trans behavior on children is morally wrong. It is an attack by evil against our country.

The department is planning to investigate whether DeSantis misused COVID-19 recovery funds to fly the migrants from Texas to Massachusetts, last September. But good thing Florida is not using Covid funds to have Pride Drag shows in schools use the money!

At the high school level, I would not call it "pushing" LGBT.
I do think that COVID funds should be reserved for student health needs.
E.g. in poor neighborhoods many girls cannot afford sanitary supplies. Some are too embarrassed and fearful of an accident to go to school. $4000 could solve this problem.
My city actually had a big collection campaign spearheaded by teen girls who felt humiliated at their pli6ght.

The debt ceiling deal includes that, so it looks like places such as NH that have leadership who can't think of a legitimate use for unspent Covid money, and doesn't want to return it so that our debt isn't so high is simply going to waste it in any way they can. It looks as if a drag queen show at a high school is the best they could come up with. Not road repair, not vaccines, not help for homeless people, not tax relief.

Both the misuse of federal tax funds and the government pushing of gay and trans behavior on children are up for discussion, as per my initial post.
To me the misuse of funds is a no brainer, and the second point is one that our country needs to confront.

I agree we should address issues with misuse of funds. No one in the government is "pushing gay and trans behavior on children". This is nothing more then an attempt to demonize acceptance.

For my part, I favor an approach along the lines of what this very site follows. There should be no promotion of LGBT. There should be promotion of tolerance. There are LGBT people in society. They're not going to magically changed into straight or non-trans people. For those of us who follow the Golden Rule, we should be able to co-exist with LGBT persons just fine if we give it a try.

When teaching tolerance, there is a line that can be crossed, when adults start encouraging children to explore and experiment. That's promotion of LGBT. We can keep an eye out for that sort of thing while teaching kids that LGBT exists and that they're not bogey men. There could easily be members in the school, and they should be treated with respect, just like everybody else. The ostrich approach, where we just pretend that LGBT doesn't exist, isn't going to work in the long run.

I wouldn't go to a pride drag show, because that kind of thing doesn't entertain me. But I see nothing wrong with providing it to those who would be entertained, as long as the entertainers mind the limits. No different than, say, a rock concert.
