  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A picture puts blame for the national debt where it belongs

So why is the party most responsible for the problem now threatening to shut down the government rather than taking responsibility for the debts primarily incurred under the administrations of their presidents?

Not exactly. You left out inflation.

These numbers are a bit misleading as to the overall picture.

I have to give some credit to Biden for finally getting egg prices back down where the price belongs..

But that's it. That so far is my kudos to the Dems.

Really? Spending rose by 47% under Trump? Wow! Pandemic? The closest spending spree is 17% by Biden.

I do not see a difference between democrats and republicans, they are both contributing to this country's problems. Along with the media, corporations and hollywood and its celebrities.

You must be reading a chart from what Kellyanne Conway used to call "alternative facts."

In his two years as President, Biden's budget rose by 4% (first year) and fell by 8% (second year.) That averages out to a 4% reduction overall...and the deficit was reduced by 50%!!! last year.

I guess being a nose-to-the-grindstone train riding legislator for most of one's life makes one a better budgeter than being a "businessman" with numerous bankruptcies (and actually that describes George W. Bush as well, perhaps with a few less bankruptcies.)
