Isn't it amazing that science is self-correcting?

That's because they create the problems.

Scientists are good at lighting fires, then putting them out.

It makes them look good.

Who built Thalidomide, then came to the rescue and "self-corrected" it?

This would have actually followed up on recent posts about methane (CH4), but you misquote the NPR article and call it CO2 (carbon dioxide). Then for good measure you add your own bit that wasn't in the NPR article (the absurd claim that the US blew up the pipeline) that is wildly off topic.
Biden literally threatened to destroy Nordstream in Feb 2022

""If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the border of Ukraine again, then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."

The US had the capability and motive. So did the Ukrainians. The idea that Russia blew up its own pipeline was laughable nonsense

and you are trying to say Methane isn't bad for the atmosphere?

"Methane has more than 80 times the warming power of carbon dioxide over the first 20 years after it reaches the atmosphere"

Scientists: "Beware climate change!"

We have, probably more correct, we had a choice and we blew it. Fortunately for our generation will pass on the problems to the next generations.

If you haven't read the

The Limits to Growth, it is now available to read online for free.

The Limits to Growth, originally published in 1972, was a groundbreaking study that modeled the dynamics of our human presence on the planet. The team behind it, led by Dennis Meadows, found that continuing with a “business as usual” growth model would likely lead to environmental and economic collapse within a century. At the time, their discoveries sparked huge controversy among scientists, scholars, and the general public. In the decades since, those discoveries have been supported by patterns of growth, environmental health, and resource use.

The current religion of climate change is about controlling the masses and relieving people of their money. Man will not destroy the planet, at least those that believe scripture know that will not happen.

Planet Earth will outlast humans by 4-6 billion years.

If you want an estimate of when civilization will begin to collapse check out the link to Limits to Growth.

From the graft included above the downward slope of collapse due to a confluence of dwindling food per capita, dwindling services, global pollution and population decline is on schedule for the mid 2030s.

The fact that we live in a finite world is observation not science.

There is an excellent blog "Our Finite World" which is run by Gail the Actuary. She has a new post every 3-4 weeks.
Gail Tverberg is a casualty actuary. In 2006, she became interested in the likely financial impacts of oil limits on insurance companies and other financial institutions, and started writing about that issue. She has since broadened her interests to more general issues related to resource limits and “Limits to Growth”. She speaks at many actuarial and academic conferences, as well as to more general groups, and has published an academic article in the journal Energy, Oil Supply Limits and the Continuing Financial Crisis. Gail’s blog is OurFiniteWorld.com.

Because it isn't a absolute moral failing to treat as if it were a yes/no question.

None of these options are particularly significant on the global scale... it's been one of the failing of environmental education that we frame everything as if the actions of ordinary people are what count, when it's the interaction of nation states and heavy industries that are significant.

why call climate change a "religion" derisively? Do you despise religion that much?

Then science should keep its mouth shut, instead of sounding an alarm every year or so.

Did science "observe" Y2K?

Nope.

But she sure made it sound like doomsday was coming.

Hey ... they have to blame it on someone.

And who are the most vulnerable?

We commoners.

I think a lot of people spreading it are well meaning... but my opinion is that it's a corrupt mix governments who don't want to make the hard choices and decisions to fix the situation (while it is literally their job) and the major controllers of capitol and industry who are simultaneously responsible for the ongoing problems and the source of corruption of the fore mentioned governments.

If I'm an oil company, it's much easier to spend a million bucks to make a cute cartoon, send two kids to college and set up a recycling photo op with school children than it is to cut your profits from 16 billion to 9 billion and actually do something.

Y2K was a computer programming issue. It had nothing to do with science.

As opposed to Big Oil which is all about feeding the hungry and leading humanity into an age of peace and harmony.

I'm confused, who exactly is supposed to be the white knight in your delusion... and for gosh sakes please don't say Donald Trump. :prayer:

why call climate change a "religion" derisively? Do you despise religion that much?

(It's not a religion, it is a science.)
I call it religion because many that follow the fear mongering, act as thought it is a religion. We were told by “science “ 20 years ago many would now be swimming in melted ice caps. “Science” told us many untruths about vaccines and masks, “science “ tells us women can be men and men can be women. Many scientists say what their grant money tells them to say. Many profit off of the “religion “ of climate change just look at Al Gore. “Science” also tells us men came from monkeys. Excuse me if I doubt what some call “science”. There are a few SCIENTISTS that truly put this debate in perspective but they are shunned by mainstream profiteers. Believe what you wish but man will not destroy the planet and I assure you doing away with rice, meat, cars, and everything else this false “religion” tells you is bad will not save the planet. There is so much hypocrisy in this false “religion “ I am amazed at how the masses continually fall for it. The “profits” of doom preach, eat these bugs buy these electric cars, give up your lifestyle while flying around the world in private jets , living in mansions consuming unashamedly obscene amounts of energy all while telling us to sacrifice. The climate on this planet has been changing for many years. Every hurricane is not proof of anything except that we sometimes have hurricanes. I do despise the current false narrative forced on the population. Biden Interior Secretary Nearly Starts Crying About Climate Change
