and yet:
Hunter Biden’s business partners reportedly were frequently guests at the White House while his father,
Joe Biden, as serving as vice president under President Barack Obama.
According to a recent investigation by Fox News Digital, business partners from
Hunter Biden‘s now-defunct firm visited the White House frequently.
The report revealed that four of Hunter’s
business partners, a vice president and two assistants from his investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Advisors,
visited the White House more than 80 times during the period in which Joe Biden was vice president.
Although President Biden has repeatedly denied any knowledge of his son’s business dealings, visitor logs show that Joan Mayer, the former vice president of Rosemont Seneca Advisors, visited the White House at least 17 times between 2008 and 2017, when Joe Biden was vice president.
That's nice. It would be a lot more convincing if it claimed they had met with the Vice President, or with his staff, 80 different times. To give a prime example, it states that, "Another former Hunter Biden assistant, Anne Marie Person, visited the White House at least five times before she left the firm in 2014 to join
then-Vice President Biden‘s staff." How many of those five times was to interview for the White House job she ended up getting?
Another claim is, "During Mayer’s visits, she met with a range of White House officials, including then-Biden aide Danielle Borrin, then-Biden executive assistant Nancy Orloff, and Kellen Suber, who was one of Vice President Biden’s executive assistants at the time." That sounds interesting but it lacks a lot of detail -- how many times did Mayer visit the three Biden assistants. Though, going to the
original article, it sounds as if it was exactly three trips -- she met each one time on different trips.
The issue is, just visiting the White House is meaningless -- as I understand it, there are just under 2,000 people that work at "the White House" -- which includes the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where the VPs offices are.
If they were visiting the Vice President, the article would state they visited the VP (or his staff) more than 80 times, or even more than 50 times -- instead, they list 3, that I recall seeing. Additionally, there are a number of social functions at the White House for holidays and other events, and I would assume a son of the VP would want to "show off" to colleagues by getting him invitations to these social events -- and the article does report that, "In December 2013 and 2014, Mayer attended holiday receptions at the vice president's White House residence at Number One Observatory Circle, according to visitor logs. In September 2015, she attended a Jewish community reception at the vice president’s residence."
Again, if they met with Joe Biden, then the log would show that is who they met with -- but they aren't claiming there are any meetings with Biden. It isn't even really claiming more than a handful of visits with the Vice President's staff members, it lists three (and maybe a couple more than I'm forgetting) visits with members of Biden's staff. While it might be worth their investigating further, none of this shows, much less provides evidence, that Joe Biden was in anyway involved with Hunter's business; it would need to spell out who the meetings were with and the reasons given for the meetings.
