Not everyone, but many of them. Claims about Obama's birth certificate were based in racism. Soros-backed has already been covered, and there sure is a lot of homophobia on the right.
The dog whistles are pretty easy to decode:
New York = Jewish
Big City = Black
Hollywood = Gay

You said:" However the left does tend to disagree with those who are racist, antisemitic and/or homophobic."

Just clear it up and tell us where you stand so I won't have to wonder.
"Us"? Who all is "us"?

I am a person, not "the left". I hold a variety of views depending on the specific topic, subject to change. I tend to strongly disagree with racist, antisemitic and homophobic people. Is that clear enough?

That source doesn't make the point you were trying to make. In fact it does just the opposite. It wasn't based on racism, it had nothing to do with the birth certificate.
It started rumors and I said it wasn’t racist

Baloney. The birth certificate was a deliberate smear campaign that continued beyond any reasonable doubt.
I’m not talking about the birth certificate I’m talking about promotional material put out by Obama’s own people

And why are you still talking about that? It didn't start rumors as the rumors were a deliberate smear campaign.

Rumors started well before his 2008 Presidential campaign. The blurb from the publisher didn't become a thing until 2012 when Breitbart made it one.

I know you don't think it was, but you appeared to be implying NxNW asserted that merely suggesting President Obama was born in Kenya (as the literary agent did by mistake) was racist. They did not.

I was here and an active participant from 2008 to 2016. I saw the claims of the birth location conspiracy mongers. There's no doubt in my mind that racism was the motivating factor. At the very least there was racial and cultural "othering" that came in to play.

How do you know?
Are you suggesting that the questioning of Obama’s birthplace wasn’t racially motivated? (Thus a smear.)
(As if to say, “This guy wasn’t even born here like the Constitution says he has to be to be eligible for the august office he aspires to! Why is he even trying? He’s pulling a ‘fast one!’”)
Smear, writ large.

Well, than, you might rejoin the rest of the discussion instead of trying to derail it with irrelevant tangents.

You are the one that brought it up. I’m all for getting back on topic

I was not the one who brought up the topic of Obama's literary agent.
Cute. @NxNW said “Not everyone, but many of them. Claims about Obama's birth certificate were based in racism. Soros-backed has already been covered, and there sure is a lot of homophobia on the right.”

“Us “ is the people on this forum. I never implied you were not a person. From your posts I tend to think you identify with the left more often than not. I also strongly disagree with racist, antisemitic, and homophobic ideology. You have not cleared up the statement of yours I quoted it does imply that people on the right are all of those things .

Which was a response to the Soros-Backed reference.

“Us “ is the people on this forum.
So now you are conflating yourself with the people on this forum. Okay.

I never implied you were not a person. From your posts I tend to think you identify with the left more often than not. I also strongly disagree with racist, antisemitic, and homophobic ideology.
Good for you. We seem to be on the same side of this issue.

You have not cleared up the statement of yours I quoted it does imply that people on the right are all of those things .
To repeat: If I disagree with those who are racist, antisemitic, and homophobic that does not mean that everyone I disagree with is racist, antisemitic, and homophobic. Basic logic.

I don’t know what is unclear about this.
