??? It is not accusation, Many Fox News Hosts and executives have admitted it under oath.
Regardless, the release of all Jan. 6th Capitol videos demonstrates it's wise to hold your judgment.

True... that's why we need to let it all pan out (if it ever does).
Rather a lot is known beyond any reasonable doubt. We have principal actors confessing guilt; hundreds of participants convicted. I am not expecting some magic revelation that turns all the hours of video evidence on its head.

So what should we allow to 'pan out'?

I don't know that accusation will pan out. But, back to the Jan. 6th Capitol tour video footage. FOX seems to be saying their reporting is accurate and the video confirms it.

If you want to talk about the FOX coverage of Jan 6 through Tucker's recent "security cam remix" videos" there is a thread specifically for that:

Why did McCarthy Give Tucker Carlson Exclusive Access to J6 Footage?

I just took apart his claims about the "shaman" in post #86.

This thread is generally about the cases (criminal and otherwise) and not the political theater of it all. (We've managed to keep this thread fairly free of "distraction and debate".)

North Carolina man who wore backpack with his own name on it inside Senate on Jan. 6 charged in Capitol breach

Two friends from North Carolina — one of whom wore a backpack embroidered with his last name on it to the Senate floor on Jan. 6 — have been charged with breaching the U.S. Capitol building.

Carnell, who was 18 at the time of the riot, and Bowman, who was 19, are charged with obstructing an official proceeding of Congress, a felony that carries a potential 20-year prison sentence. They are also charged with a handful of trespassing and disorderly conduct misdemeanors that carry a combined statutory maximum of three years behind bars.

Then came the now-infamous news conference on November 19, where members of Trump’s legal team – including Powell, Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis – laid out a series of false claims and conspiracy theories about alleged voter fraud.

Ex-Trump attorney admits statements about 2020 election were false and is censured by judge

Jenna Ellis was censured by a disciplinary judge in Colorado Wednesday, in the latest effort to hold accountable attorneys who boosted former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election reversal gambits.

Ellis signed a stipulation stating that several comments she made about the 2020 election violated professional ethics rules barring reckless, knowing or intentional misrepresentations by attorneys, according to documents posted by Colorado’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. As part of the stipulation, Ellis agrees to pay $224.

Well, I bet she learned her lesson!

This looks awfully like admitting to lying about the 2020 election result. We should remember the name.

Jenna Ellis.

Jenna Ellis.
The stipulation goes into more detail about the precise nature of some of the false statements.

November 20, 2020: Respondent appeared on Spicer & Co. and stated: "with all those states [Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia] combined we know that the election was stolen from President Trump and we can prove that."

November 23, 2020: Respondent appeared on The Ari Melber Show on MSNBC and stated: "The election was stolen and Trump won by a landslide."

December 3, 2020: Respondent appeared on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business and stated: "The outcome of this election is actually fraudulent it's wrong, and we understand than when we subtract all the illegal ballots, you can see that President Trump actually won in a landslide."

December 15, 2020: Respondent appeared on Greg Kelly Reports on Newsmax and stated "The proper and true victor, which is Donald Trump..."

In court today...

A tambourine wielding, retired NYPD officer named Sara Carpenter was convicted by a jury on 7 counts including the two felonies of "Civil Disorder" and "Obstruction of an official proceeding."

the 3rd Oath Keeper trial should have had closing arguments and gone to the jury today. (That was the plan as of last night. No reports of deviation from that plan, but this trial has been woefully undercovered.

There are a few more active trials from Jan 6th right now, but the absolute biggest mess was in the Proud Boys sedition trial. It all started yesterday when the DOJ had an FBI agent on to stand to introduce the evidence in their "Tools theory" of the case. (That is the defendant PBs used other rioters as "tools" to achieve their goals. Most of the "tools" were PBs [otherwise charged] with a few strays they picked up. The "tools" were seen all over the attack and seem to be working with the defendants.) During cross examination near the end of the day on Wednesday, the agent was asked about the "hidden" rows in a spreadsheet that was part of the presented evidence. She didn't know about them.

It turns out that thousands of messages were stored in the spreadsheet and the defense wasn't directly told about them. (Someone in the defense team found a tab or something that revealed the hidden layer.) Among the other problems with the messages is that the DOJ says some of them were classified. Oof. They spent the whole morning (without the jury) going over the various facts related to these hidden messages including questioning of the agent. (It's all quite confusing). Defense attorneys moved at various times for delays until resolution, mistrial, and dismissal. The judge hopes that the trial can resume with testimony before the jury on Monday.

In other news on Jan 6th...

One of the very few spaces inside the Capitol that was trashed was a suite of offices near the infamous "tunnel" that was broken into through a window and a dozen or more people entered the rooms and rifled through stuff. Yesterday it was realized that the office belonged to a specific senator due to the release of a video from a current trial proceedings for one of the people in the room. The senator in question has not said it was his office and refuses to comment even after this was published:

Jan. 6 rioters trashed a GOP senator's office, and he hasn't acknowledged it

Two years ago, a mob of rioters who believed former President Donald Trump's lies about the 2020 election viciously assaulted police, smashed out windows, stormed into an office, flipped over a giant conference table and barricaded themselves inside the U.S. Capitol, readying themselves for a fight with police inside a suite of "hideaway" offices for senators.

One of the offices, federal prosecutors recently disclosed, belonged to Republican Jim Risch, the 79-year-old junior senator from Idaho, where Trump is tremendously popular.

Pence says Trump ‘endangered my family’ in Capitol riot on Jan. 6

“President Trump was wrong,” Pence said during remarks at the annual white-tie Gridiron Dinner attended by politicians and journalists. “I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”

“Make no mistake about it, what happened that day was a disgrace,” Pence said in his Gridiron Dinner remarks. “And it mocks decency to portray it any other way.”

“I read that some of those classified documents they found at Mar-a-Lago were actually stuck in the president’s Bible,” Pence said. “Which proves he had absolutely no idea they were there.”

Nice little joke there...

At last Pence has found the courage to speak out against Trump. Or, has read the runes and decided that Trump is no longer a credible force in the Republican Party.

He's still a coward who refuses to testify to what he saw and is therefore fighting the subpoena.
