  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why did McCarthy Give Tucker Carlson Exclusive Access to J6 Footage?

Show me proof that one vote was changed by Russian influence.
What an adorably unassailable demand, but that's not how this works. Russia has a well documented effort to influence our elections.
Private companies have analyzed it.
The Senate Intel Committee issued a five volume report on it.
The Russians have even admitted it.

If you want to be on some Bizarro World where they're wasting money, and have been for a decade, on a program that hasn't influenced a single person, that's up to you I guess.

It is not just about Kenosha! Geesh. We sat and watched all summer, long violence, desruction of property etc. Called "mostly peaceful" protests. It was on our televisions, on social media, day after day. And you bring up Kenosha?
My mistake. I assumed you were aware of the source for the "mostly peaceful" meme that you posted. As I informed you, that phrase became a mocking conservative mene Omar Jimenez was reporting for CNN in Kenosha. His report was after sundown and rioters had set fires, but the larger protests earlier in the day were, as the chyron accurately noted "mostly peaceful".

Conservatives then parroted that verbiage to mock anyone with the temerity to note that the vast majority of police shooting protests in 2020 were peaceful (93% in one analysis).

If you type "mostly peaceful" into Google and go to the images results, they're a bunch of memes with Omar, the fies and the chyron.

QAnon Shaman's mom torches feds after new video shows convict 'escorted' around Capitol

Jacob Chansley of Arizona was jailed on multiple counts following the riot

QAnon Shaman's mom torches feds after new video shows convict 'escorted' around Capitol

The mother of the "QAnon Shaman" arrested in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot proclaimed her son's innocence after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., shared videotape with "Tucker Carlson Tonight" from that day – some of which shows Jacob Chansley walking through the Capitol unimpeded by law enforcement.

"What has it been like – that is an awful thing to say, it is horrible," Martha Chansley told "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

When asked how she feels to know the United States government and President Biden's administration "hid evidence" that may be considered exculpatory in his case, wherein he was charged with several crimes including civil disorder, obstruction of a proceeding, violent entry, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, Chansley said it is very "upsetting."

"It should have come out two years ago. That [video] should have come out two years ago. He's an innocent man. Everything that [Jacob] said that he did is true -- That he walked through open doors. He was escorted through the halls of the Senate."
Looks like Tucker's propaganda is working.

My question for her is, how does she know Jacob didn't have access to that video? More importantly, if he knew he'd been "escorted" and welcomed in by the CHP, why did he plead guilty instead of going to trial?

I suspect part of the reason is that the charge he pled guilty to - obstruction of official proceedings - was hard to defend against once he chose to sit in the Vice President's chair after the insurrectionists took over the chamber.

The other part is because he wasn't being "escorted" to the Senate chamber, nor was he welcomed in.

A non reply that didn't address any points I made. I'll take that as a tacit admission that you couldn't.

It sure didn't look that way to me.
Then Tucker's propaganda must be working. Did you wonder, even for a moment, why there were so many quick cut edits and Tucker removed the time stamps?

Okay.

@iluvatar5150 may want to argue with you about WHEN he died.

And why would I do that. They are correct. Brian Sicknick died on 7 Jan 2021.

There may not be any evidence that he was struck with a fire extinguisher but it was widely reported.

There is no reason to live in the universe of rumors circulating back then. It is not relevant. At this point you're just trying to stir the pot.

Schumer’s demand was a direct attack on the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which not only guards freedom of the press, but specifically restrains Congress itself from interfering with it: “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.”
No it wasn't. His "demand" has no force of law. He didn't even threaten "Fire Carlson, or we'll legislate you into non-existence."
Schumer violated the Constitution — and, arguably, his oath to defend it. And he had the chutzpah to declare that he was doing so to defend our democracy.

No he didn't. He can't create laws on his own. Nor has he proposed any laws that would violate the 1st Amendment.

There is no way to measure how much influence propaganda has on an election no more than I could prove how much Biden was helped by the media and intelligence community claiming the laptop story was Russian propaganda.

People are hopelessly confused about the US constitution. They believe wacky things like theres a 1A right to post what you want on social media, or a 1A prohibition on lawmakers personally calling out media lies.

They "corralled" him right into the Senate chamber.
Did they? I mean we saw him directed to a door, but I don't know what door that was. It would be nice if someone who has been in the Capitol can tell us what door it is:
Screenshot_20230310-082138.png

So what's the defense for that? Did the Capitol Police not know the layout of the building, and mistook the Senate chamber entrance as the exit to the outside of the building?
Chansley signed an admission that he was followed by police who repeatedly asked him to leave the building and he refused. CHP decided to use de-escalation techniques instead of busting heads like Tucker was suggesting.
PolitiFact - Evidence rebuts Tucker Carlson’s claim about Capitol Police acting as tour guides to ‘QAnon Shaman’

Again, if he was being escorted by "tour guides", why did he sign the plea agreement if he wasn't ignoring them repeatedly asking him to leave the building?

They lied about what?

They had sources that were (deliberately) vague or giving them wrong information (based on rumors?) and the reported that. Did they cover themselves with glory? (No.) Did they like? (Not that I know of, and I followed all of this very closely.)

I dont care about people just milling around, except those that entered the building in a criminal break-in.

I do care about the vandalism, vile disrespect, and of course the violence.....but mostly I care about the overall effort to overturn a valid election and install an unelected president, strongman style..

Watch the video I posted.

It's a lot of poorly sourced news reports (most clearly early) and opinion bits. The only two things you should take from it was the report directly quoting a USCP press release that Sicknick was "attacked at the Capitol and died later" (he was attacked chemically and he did die the next day) and the report at ~50 seconds in about Julian Khater (and his friend) attacking Sicknick with a chemical spray.

Khater was arrested in mid-March (2+ months after the attack), the rest of the bits are all clearly from prior to that, mostly the first couple days or weeks.

The information available in the immediate aftermath of the attack was sparse and misleading. Why should that have any bearing on how we treat the event now when we have the full picture now?

.Again, you're demanding a measurement for a metric which doesn't exist and that's not the sign of an honest interlocutor. That Russia extensively interfered in the 2016 has been documented and admitted to. Because Mary Elizabeth Page of Newburyport, Massachusetts hasn't come forward and said, "I was going to vote Hillary, but then I saw some Russian misinformation on Facebook and changed my mind", doesn't make the evidence of that interference go away
iden was helped by the media and intelligence community claiming the laptop story was Russian propaganda.
No one claims the Conservisphere foghorn about the supposed laptop was "Russian propaganda". It was correctly determined to be Russian disinformation and a failed attempt at an October Surprise.

There's no evidence the supposed laptop even exists.

Is there any way to prove that being sprayed with bear spray caused a blood clot that led to a stroke?

There is no proof the story was Russian disinformation and there is evidence that the laptop exists. Hunter Biden finally admits infamous laptop is his as he pleads for criminal probe /////. Copy of what's believed to be Hunter Biden's laptop data turned over by repair shop to FBI showed no tampering, analysis says
