All of this private data can be had with a simple letter sent to the FAA requesting it, and that’s exactly what people and companies do. One company in particular sends regular FOIA requests to the FAA in order to sell competitive data to other companies. If he did have his registration hidden at some point, it definitely isn't now. I can go to the FAA website, look up all of the Gulfstream G650ERs registered in the US (there aren't very many), find the one registered to Elon Musk's company "Falcon Landing, LLC", and determine that the callsign is assigned as N628TS. I can then go on a flight tracking site and search for that callsign to discover that the plane is currently on the ground in San Jose, having most recently flown from Austin.

Musk claims that this endangers him, but honestly, I don't see it. Even if you know when a flight takes off and lands, if you want to find the person taking that flight, you still have to locate their ground transportation and determine where/when they leave the airport.

Brett Kavanaugh was almost attacked at his house, and Steve Scalise was attacked as part of a group of Republican congressmen at a public baseball field, and actually didn't seem to have been targeted. ElonJet would tell you what city he's in. At a stretch, you can also tell what airport he's in, but not really with enough time to get there to do any harm unless you are already there.

Yes. I read many articles (and more tweets) about persons being banned on Twitter. It was mostly from reporters tracking far-right extremists. That is until Jan 2021, when they did ban that old guy with the comb-over and the orange makeup when the reportage became much more prominent.
