Is YEC science? Is is even really a theory?

Then I'll take your post with a grain of salt, since James Ussher arrived at a 4004 BC date.

And he didn't even use an electronic calculator.
And as usual you just don't get it.
Have you come across a history book where it is left to the reader to arrive at the date of an event?

No, but if you have a science book -- (or any book for that matter) -- which gives peoples names and times of births, and you can concatenate them, then it doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to calculate the passage of time.

Even Jesus is said to have been crucified at the age of 33.

Free will is not a flaw.

How much is a free will worth if you do not have the facts or experience to critically think about issues ?

I am sure North Koreans have "free will" on at least some of the issues but they are still the product of their upbringing and state propaganda that shapes their worldview. Undoubtedly many would join up to fight war against US quite willingly because of the lies they have been told.

Is such a free will really free ?

And please think about that objectionaly for 30 seconds before answering. Thx. Also please leave crocodile tears about comparing Eden and North Korea. Concentrate on the logic of it.

Enough of your pussyfooting does the Bible record a creation date of 4004 BC, yes or no.

Guess answering can take a hike along with science.....
You're more than welcome to answer it for me.

And as far as "along with science" is concerned, I take it from your previous posts that you agree with me?

Sure, you can take it that way if you want. You have to infer so many things already so whats one more.

Interesting how academia can concatenate the pharaohs, but go 404 with the Bible.

You need to stop using the word "academia" as an umbrella term for everything that doesn't jive with your particular viewpoint. You might be blacklisting some of your own allies who touch upon issues to support the Bible that YOU NEVER touch.

Just say'n, bro! Be careful with that. Maybe qualify it out a bit more, more often, more consistently. Otherwise, you make your self look ...

well...........like you're kind of MAD.

You have a good point, but the fact of the matter is, I think collective academia is so overrun with the tares now, that it's hard to separate them.

I too have a college degree, my pastor has two doctorates, and several people in our church have degrees and certificates; but I still use that "umbrella term" because "my own allies" are the exception now, rather than the rule.

I do get what you're saying, BUT because I'm an academic, I think it's in my cognitive power---even my God given cognitive power---to make fine distinctions.

I think it's in your power too to do so.

So what word should I use then?

(I think I asked this once before. If so, sorry. My memorex isn't like it used to be!)

Science is amazing when it comes to creating and discovering things - it terrible when trying to tell us about the past (because of the unknowns and assumptions it has to make).
Post of the year.

God is deceptive? Where did that concept come from? God creating Adam as a man instead of a baby was deceptive?

Read again the example which I used, which is what AV believes and what you may or may not follow either, if you answer the question instead of just replying to questions asked of you with another question.

Give us one unknown or assumption about the past.

Denial of the collective ways stemming from multiple unrelated scientific fields to make sense of the past will lead to strange, problematic thinking.

Pretty vague and opionated.

Scientific research has determined that each
volcano has its own distinct ash. Like a
fingerprint.

That each layer of polar ice represents one
years' accumulation.

That C14 has a certain half life.

That H2SO4 concentratuin directly affects
conductivity.
Esuvias erupted in AD 79
If researchers drill the ice down, say,
2000 layers and count down 1, 944
layers, where they find ash from vesuvius,
a spike in sulfuric acid, and pollen that
shows the same age, what do you think?

That it's all useless assumptions that
give terrible results?

Bonus points if you can ecplain wny
researchers world wide would waste
their time doing useless research.

Denying something a person knows nothing
about is as about as insensible as believing
what one knows nothing about.
