While Twitter is losing both employees and advertisers, and a few high-profile celebrities have departed, the platform’s core user base appears to be as engaged as ever — a point Elon Musk himself made recently. What do the numbers tell us?

That if usage (costs) is up and advertising (revenue) is down, then the bottom line will suffer.

Since GM pulled out, maybe Tesla should move in to snap up those customers. Tesla can write off the expense on its' taxes; and Tesla drivers can fund free speech for Conservatives. It's a win/win.

Certainly there's no question that Musk and Tesla have billions of dollars that could be used to support a business that would otherwise lose money. For probably a very long time.

Influencers? The Chinese are sharing information amongst themselves, because they are because they are being censored far worse than when the far Left controlled Twitter. Also, unlike many Americans, they know that their media is lying to them.

I agree, by American standards. I have known for about 20 years that the Chinese tend to be more educated as to what is going on in the world than most Americans. The reason is that they know that their media is lying to them; so they have developed an underground network for sharing information, in the face of censorship.

It's a completely different culture, a culture that puts every other culture on the planet in its' infancy by comparison.

Sure, I'm not talking about the honest ordinary Chinese citizens. I share your support for them against government censorship and authoritarianism.

But there are networks of Chinese government figures who both openly and clandestinely seek to sway opinions.

Yeah the death of Twitter is been greatly exaggerated. And I don't think it's angst I think it was intended. The left wants Twitter to die because someone owns it now who is a proponent of free speech.

Musk lost some advertisers because either those companies were so woke that they couldn't stand free speech or leftists threatened them with boycotts.

This just happened. Give it some time and we'll see Titter back better and stronger because it's the best platform for the type of thing it does.
