  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

People cannot be swayed by anything they do not already agree with these days. But what would be a more preferable way to identify such individuals?
Something that isn't obviously intended as a slur.

LONDON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Monday he had interfered in U.S. elections and would continue doing so in future...Prigozhin, who served nine years in prison in Soviet times for robbery and other crimes before going into business...

Russia's Prigozhin admits interfering in U.S. elections

So when a Russian criminal does it; American Conservatives should be stripped of their rights and censored; but when American Leftists do it; it's OK?

Well, Democrats are Americans so they get to participate in American elections. Russians are not Americans so they do not get to participate in American elections.

Absolutely. If American leftists do it, it's dismissed with a "But it wasn't enough to change the results."
If an American on the Right does it, even just to demonstrate that it's able to be done, they're charged with crimes, and then the demonstration of the fact that the election process is not secure is swept under the rug (denied).

Well, Democrats are Americans so they get to participate in American elections. Russians are not Americans so they do not get to participate in American elections.

I would say that there is a big difference between trolling the internet, and participating in elections. However I consider buying election campaigns to be active participation.

Funny how speaking your mind is a threat to Democracy; but financing the overthow of elections seems to be fine with some Democrats.

I sense a reference to "Jan. 6th" coming. I can feel it!

You are currently the one saying Democrats speaking their mind on their preferred Republican nominee is a threat to Democracy.

There was no overthrow. Democrats didn’t make a single Republican vote a certain way in the primary. Each Republican did that on their own. And the Republicans voted for Trump endorsed candidates to be their nominee.

It looks like some Democrats have a new angle for this new election. They can now blame Trump for Republican losses as a result of Democrat interference in the Republican primaries.

They did the same thing that they censor Republicans for; as they blame it on the Russians. They influenced the Republican primaries. However what these Democrats did is far worse. They financed this overthrow of the Republican Primaries. If the Russians were doing that to the Democrats, their bank accounts would be frozen.

I look forward to a Republican Congress for a complete investigation.

Would the House be able to do that on their own? We probably got the House, but the Senate is looking not all that likely, although still possible.

Congress has the authority to conduct investigations “in aid of its legislative function.” That authority can extend to investigations for the purpose of deciding whether legislation is appropriate, to information gathering on matters of national importance

I say let supply and demand dictate the market.

I doubt that CA will catch up with TX. Like I said, TX has a fast growing solar industry, and we're already miles ahead with wind power.

But do you think it's a conscious decision we should make to head in that direction? Supply and demand works two ways. It reduces prices when supply is high but increases them when it's low. It's what is keeping gas prices high. Companies won't reduce profits to increase supply. So what about financial incentives for renenables?

These same people seek to censor the 1st amendment rights of American's, with their fear mongering about the Russians influencing our elections; while they do exactly what they use as an excuse to undermine our liberty.

They've been exposed.

A complete non sequitor. Why not address the topic directly?

High gas prices are incentives for competition from companies that are selling renewable energy.

That how free market economics works.
