  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually, the disposition of Lucifer should serve as ample evidence of what is expected of those who practice such unwise behaviors.
Perhaps a better understanding of God's righteousness and the degree to which sin offends that righteousness would give some insight regarding God's wrath. God is not vengeful toward His creation only the sin which has corrupted it. Those who will not become clean through the blood of Christ will be consumed in the lake of fire.

Becoming a disciple of the Master of reconciliation begins with these words...

"You did not choose Me...."

God loves what He has made and will bring all of it back to Himself pure & clean & new.

Behold I make ALL things new!

Wow. So untrue. Scripture taken so far out of context to make doctrines of men.

1. A disciple does not choose Christ: the Master chooses him.

2.The Lord declares of His created work, it is good.

3. All is made new again within Him: Pas radically means ALL!

In a sense God has chosen everyone, however only those who respond to that invitation by accepting Christ as Savior have forgiveness of sins.

There are zero however(s).

Our God does not make worthless invitations to accept or reject Him!

Every knee bows in/en before Himin worship

Yes, but as usual, you miss the point...that being God had never or has never ever even thought of burning people, as sacrifices to pagan "gods" or in "hell." Do you understand where I am coming from?
Yes I do but you appear to not understand the difference between God incinerating thousands by fire in Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sins and Israel offering their children to pagan deities in fire.

Matt 10:28 does not say God will destroy both body and soul in hell. It says "Him who is able to destroy body and soul in hell." What God created He can certainly destroy but not one single verse in either testament says God has or will destroy even one soul in hell or anywhere else.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Let me see if I have this straight.

And fear not them which kill the body--this part is meant to be taken literally.

but are not able to kill the soul--this part is meant to be taken literally.

but rather fear him--this part is meant to be taken literally.

which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell--this part is not meant to be taken literally.

IOW, if this interpretation is correct it demonstrates how inconsistent Jesus was being about what all He said. Can't blame this one on the interpreter in this case. Jesus is the one not being consistent here, not the interpreter, still keeping in mind, assuming this interpretation is correct.

Want to test it? Find a vs., 2 or more would be better, where God, Himself, or Jesus, Himself, says that a soul was or will be killed in hell?

I think maybe some of the folks in this post may end up experiencing hell because they think the word of God is something to play with.

Our God always achieves His objectives. The One who began all things as good, ends all things good.

Yah is the beginning and ending of the radical all of pas and ta panta!

Does this mean your main dispute is not with a body being destroyed in hell, but is with a soul being destroyed in hell? Do you have Biblical proof that mankind was created with an immortal soul, meaning both the good and the wicked? Obviously, there wouldn't be a debate at that point if you can provide Scripture that prove all souls are immortal and were created immortal. Even God obviously can't kill something that is immortal, thus why I believe satan will literally be tormented day and night forever without end, because God apparently created him immortal if there is no hint that he has ever died or can die since the day of his creation.

Mankind OTOH, the fact man can die and does die, would have had to have been created with an immortal soul in order to experience ECT. That would have to be the logic. The question is, does the Bible support that logic?

If God can grant the righteous eternal life in paradise He can certainly grant the unrighteous a conscious existence somewhere else.
Notice, the rich man died but he was talking to Abraham from hades.

Luke 16:22-24
(22) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
(23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
(24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luke 16:26
(26) And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
And the rich man, was dead but conscious and could not leave the place where he was.

Does the wrath of God abide on those who remain unrepentant?
What is your definition of "repent"?
(some have it confused with "confess")

So, you'd say I'm going there for proving it does not exist? Actually, I agree with you, for God told us not to add to or take away from, His word. Someone played around with His word, however, inserting "hell" - a word (and concept!) not found in Latin, Greek, Aramaic or Hebrew. God did not mention it in His creation, His law, His warnings, or even His accounts of those He killed. It was always just death.
