  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your questions gives more clarity about the situation. The Pharisees knew the law and practised to an extent but Jesus wasn't impressed. I suggest you do a personal study of Pauls letter to the Romans and Galatians.
Actually, the Pharisees were following many of their own laws and traditions over following the commandments of God. Jesus warned them of doing so Matthew 15:3-9. We can’t save or sanctify ourselves, only God can and we allow that to happen when we place our trust in Him and obey what He commandments because He know knows what’s best for us.

God bless!

It's up to you and which you feel convicted to attend. Also, go when your personal schedule allows. You may be working on one day or the other and have your choices limited.

So, you don't believe Christ lives in you, what does God say contrary to this?
Don’t put words where words are not.
If the christ in us is telling us something contrary to what He already established in the Word then it is not the Christ speaking to us.

Was Jesus not accused of breaking the Sabbath, did He not work by healing the sick on Sabbath?
Jesus was accused of breaking the Sabbath and that He was equal to God. We should not take the side of the Pharisees word over the Word of Jesus who said He did not sin and kept all of His Fathers commandments including the Sabbath commandment as our example to follow. 1 Peter 2:22, John 15:10 Luke 4:16

Doing the work of God on the Sabbath is not a sin. When preachers give a sermon on the Sabbath its not sin. The Sabbath is meant to be about the ways of God, not our own pleasures, secular work. Isaiah 58:13

But it was a sin to do any work on Sabbath in OT, whereas in the NT Christ made it clear that doing good wasn't wrong. Now that we have Christ in us, we can fellowship with him and do good daily. We have him always so everyday in Him is a Sabbath.

Accused.
Doing ministerial work is not breaking the Sabbath. We are never to stop ministering, from doing good to and for others.

No; servile work, not any work.

We should be careful to think our thoughts, opinions and feelings are equal to the Word of God. There is no scripture that says Jesus is the Sabbath and we no longer need to keep the 4th commandment. Jesus did the work of His Father and His ways are not our ways.

You can say Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath and yet man still is blinded to what God said. Yet man still makes it about man.

Its really simple. If you believe you must obey keep the Sabbath then you best be doing it. This goes with everything else He said. Its not what others do. Yeah its between you and Him. No prophets today to tell us what to do we all have GOD sweet sweet holy Spirit in us (Luke 11:13).

See if you tell me Jesus is lord there is no other way and I better believe in Him to have ever lasting life. To that I better listen. Do you see? He is really capable of taking care of His kids :)

So the question.. YES!

Sunday. Christ rose from the dead on the first day of the week.

Many Churches offer a vigil service on Saturday celebrating the Sunday Service (or Mass, if you are Catholic or Anglican) though.
