A sign

Ever since I was very young, I’ve been a big fan of Elton John. My mum has been a fan even longer than me and introduced me to his music. This year, my mum booked me and her tickets to see him live. I’d never seen Elton John live before, I’d seen plenty other of my favourite artists live (eg. Billy Joel, Madness), but not him.

When I got to the stadium, I could smell hedonism in the air, gay flags were everywhere and people were drinking lots of alcohol, but I ignored it and did not partake in it. We got to the show, and I was enjoying it up until near the end, when he was playing I’m Still Standing, one of me and my mum’s favourites of his. He was displaying images and short clips of his long career, and one of those pictures was of Elton dressed as the devil. At best, this was very very inconsiderate, at worst it was very sinful. I began to feel unease and I started to think about what I had seen and prayed for the audience and for Elton’s salvation.

After the concert finished, we got on a shuttle bus back to the car park (parking at the stadium is very expensive), and on the way, as I was thinking about everything, I saw a sign on the side of the road 'ONLY JESUS SAVES'. I immediately knew it was a sign from God, but I have no idea what it exactly meant. Can anyone help me?

Jesus saves us from ours sins. Homosexuality is a sin. Everybody needs Jesus to live a good life and avoid going to hell. You are a Christian aren’t you? Jesus died for our sins and rose again so we could believe He is God and we can believe in Him as the Savior of the world. Comprendhe?

Yes I’m Christian, why else would I be on Christian Forums?

I’ve purposefully avoided Elton John’s music since, besides some songs on the radio when my mum has been in the car. Is this the way forward?

I would say it is not a "sign" so much but rather it is a reminder. That it is God who saves.

What did you expect from someone who openly rejects the Christian way of life.

Learn from this experience, that if you go to secular entertainment you can expect all sorts of ungodly behaviour.
