We should tell Russian soldiers in Ukraine what Russian propaganda says they are doing there

IT would be good to let Russian soldiers in Ukraine see what their leaders claim they are doing - and what is "safe" in Ukraine.

Kyiv says 8 killed; Moscow says not targeting Ukraine cities

" Russia’s defense ministry said on Thursday that its air attacks on Ukraine were not targeting cities and posed no threat to civilians, the RIA news agency reported."​

In this next example Russia is claiming they are on a "military-humane" project protecting civilians, bridges, roads, factories in Ukraine.

In that example they start by quoting a popular Russian outlet - Komsomolskaya Pravda, quoting a Russian field commander saying civilians are not targeted and neither are hospitals, schools, roads, factories etc.

Russian military in Ukraine needs to "get this news" out to their soldiers so they will stop targeting civilians, roads, bridges, factories ....

When this war in Ukraine is over and the soldiers return to Russia with "what really happened in Ukraine - as known to all the world -- but Russians" how will Russians respond? will they say "oh well we assumed our government was lying to us all the time anyway - so no big deal"???

That kind of "you're stuck in my foxhole so I can say whatever I like about the outside world" propaganda works pretty good for N. Korea since so few of its citizens "get out" of dear leaders self-imposed concentration camp. But many Russians have more outside contacts with the real world as compared to N. Koreans. How is this suppose to work for them in a year? Will there be a "sudden election" in Russia in 2023?

Between 24 February and 15 March, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 1,900 civilian casualties – with 726 people killed, including 52 children – mostly caused by explosive weapons in populated areas.

The number last updated I've seen put it around 900. That is ridiculously small and in accordance with Kremlin statements about avoiding civilian collateral damage. Even considering underreporting, If Russia were targeting civilians, the number would be 10x higher at least. And we must recall that these numbers do not discriminate between Russian or Ukrainian actors.

Kiev military casualty numbers are likely far out of whack with reality - hence claims of Ukraine 'winning the information war' - i.e. propaganda influence. Kiev claims for military casualties are almost the exact inverse of the Kremlin's claim.

Meanwhile most claims I've seen of specific incidences of 'civilian targeting' has been unverifiable or Ukrainian. Much on Western Media has turned out false - Miss Ukraine with her airsoft gun is not on the front lines, the so-called ghost of kiev is entirely fictional - most imagery of the ghost is harvested from video games or older stock footage, Zelensky pictures in military garb from last year meant to show him being on front lines, the Ukrainian tank going over cars being falsely called a Russian tank.

Meanwhile, Ukrainians are tying Roma to lamp posts and spray painting them because of their nationalities. Indian people aren't being allowed into bunkers. Black people are kept from fleeing on trains and other transportation at gunpoint.

And the Ukrainian parliament has already compared itself to Nazi Germany twice - "Russia is bombing us like the Allies did to Germany." (My paraphrase.)

Absurd claims from the West are simply that and are totally devoid of reference to reality.

It is ridiculous that a believer would post this nonsense.

The problem is that the government of Russia, long ago, set itself up as the only source that is the judge of what truth is. They set up a government system, not unlike a ministry of disinformation that said what was and was not fake news. Media groups learned to tow the line or be silenced nd run out of business.

When speech is limited to only one side, the masses have nothing to compare the information they are getting to. Anything contradictory is censored, banned as false information or ridiculed as conspiracy.
