Greeting brothers and sisters.
I have a question....I know that wordly music is unpleasing to the Lord, so how should one shop when almost all stores play worldly music in them? Should we still shop in these stores?
Welcome to CF! We are still in the world and no matter where we go we are exposed to its goodness and badness. Ultimately it is the will of the Father that we love one another. Blessings

Not all secular music is bad. As far as what stores play, you are in the world not of it. There are some things you’ll just have to put up with. Try not to be overly scrupulous.

Some bad songs play in your head long time after you left the shop.

Sorry if this a bit off-topic, but just yesterday I came across this video of two orthodox Jewish men playing "worldly" music in Israel, so I wonder why you think it's forbidden :)

Awesome! :)

most stores play music at a low volume interrupted often by announcements

if you're concentrating on your list, trying to social distance from people, and focus on getting in & out quickly, the music shouldn't be much of a bother

Ear-worms happen. :)
Lets call it psychological war. The same principle is with tv/radio commercials - tunes and rhymes are made specifically to stay in our head.

Some places are obsessed with music/radio and do not care about our agreement with it, even though their purpose is totally different, like shopping or hair dressing.

Well you can easily ignore a song if you choose to. Greater is He that is within me....

Well you can easily ignore a song if you choose too. Greater is He that is within me....
No, you cant. Its subconsious. Thats the power of it and of commercials.

If they were easily ignorable, then nobody would pay for such commercials or songs.

Our brain is not made to ignore sounds that carry a message that rhymes, thats why they do it.

So? Just don't keep thinking about it after you heard it. As Paul already said, "we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Cor 10:5). Control your thoughts and don't let them control you.
