  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evidence of miracles.

"Human heart tissue in a cracker."
I like serious talk, so I will leave you to those
who may be amused.

That is The difference between the verdict of science by one of many pathologists who studied them. ( Lawrence the one I quoted)

And you who has never seen them, analysed them and wouldn’t know how anyway, who gives your verdict.

This “skeptic faith” of yours is strong enough to discount evidence it seems.

There is nothing amusing about it. It is tragic you won’t let evidence in!

Can you repost the link?

So we have no way of measuring its effectivness as a "prophecy."

...Allegedly.
Don’t need to. You are quite capable of finding them ,
as you did the other one. The so called miracle of the sun.

The prophecy is why 70000 turned up. So it certainly was a prophecy. A significant number including apriori sceptics came to mock, but went away convinced. “ how the sun danced at midday at Fatima” was written by one of the best known sceptic journalists. There are books full of witness testimony, some were at Pedro do Ouro on the coastwhich must be 50k away.

Spare us the sophistry, it was clearly effective since an event with zero expectation happened on a date , time and place prophesied 6 months before.

Prophecy fulfilled does happen.

You make a very good point here, Mike.

What I don't get are the seekers.

They will ask very good questions, get good answers, then want to argue it down.

It makes me wonder just what it is they are seeking.

I can understand that from atheists, and to a lesser degree agnostics.

But not seekers.

Yawn. Last I checked, the sun shines over the entire planet... Why only a small number of people allegedly saw... something ... Isn't terribly impressive.

You know, it seems I owe you a deep and profound apology. I'm sitting in a Barnes & Noble looking out at the parking lot, and I think I just witnessed a genuine miracle!

Let me write this down quickly lest I forget what I saw. The window looks out over the parking lot, which is right by the highway. I (and the other customers) looked up from our tablets/laptops/phones at the sound of a terrible crash. We all loom outside at a nasty traffic collision.

There's a blue SUV that has literally flipped over and is still smoking. A few minutes ago, a man (white, looked about mid-30s) crawled out of the wreck, apparently missing a left arm... I've never seen anyone bled so much...
He reached back into the wreck and pulled out his severed arm... And then (and I can't believe I'm writing this) simply REATTACHED it!

I last saw him walking north along Rt. 18 like nothing happened, with a crowd of people going after him... Last I saw, he simply wasn't acting like he was even aware of the crash or the crowd!

I think that was a bona fide miracle! I'm a believer now!

Actually, only half of the planet at a time. It's that whole thing about the Earth being spherical.

Serious question:

If a scientist reported he saw Big Foot cross the road late one night, would his credibility be ruined among his peers?

Aren't we all just scientists observing the weird demented world though?

Did you not say you were a grad school dropout?

No need to say. Its like if I claimed expertise in American football.

So put me on a post game show to talk about the game.

I would be exposed as a phony in no time

Depends on if he was a known drunk previously...

They have that show.

Many people have been fooled. But it had low ratings.
