Is it acceptable or not? Where should the line be drawn? It doesn't feel right somehow. It is possible to cheat emotionally, and I am very concerned about forming emotional bonds with someone who is married. My concern is that one of us may begin to develop feelings, which would be incredibly sad. Thoughts?
An "intense" relationship?

If it's with someone of the opposite sex, I would call it inappropriate - either sinful or at risk of it. Back off a bit before it becomes sinful in that case.

If you have a close friendship with someone of the same sex and that person gets married, then it's fine to remain friends, but that relationship is going to change a bit since the spouse now comes before you.

You can of course, hit it off with someone of the same sex who is already married, but since that person's spouse comes before you, and always will if the marriage is healthy, understand that the relationship between you two would probably fall short of "intense".

I'm asking for this to be deleted as it's in the wrong forum. I have reposted the thread in Christian advice. Thanks very much for the response.
I hope you're right and it falls short of 'intense'.
