Pathéma: that which befalls one, i.e. a suffering, a passion
Original Word: πάθημα, ατος, τό
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Transliteration: pathéma
Phonetic Spelling: (path'-ay-mah)
Definition: that which befalls one, a suffering, a passion
Usage: (a) suffering, affliction, (b) passion, emotion, (c) an undergoing, an enduring.

páthēma "the capacity to feel strong emotion, like suffering") – properly, the capacity and privilege of experiencing strong feeling; felt, deep emotion, like agony, passion (ardent desire), suffering, etc.

/páthēma is redemptive, preparing us to know the Lord better now and forever in glory (cf. Ro 8:18; Phil 3:10; 1 Pet 5:1). (páthēma) is not inherently negative; indeed, it is only negative when experienced outside of (apart from) faith. (pasxō).

páthēma ("strong feeling") includes affliction (suffering), which should always (ideally) result in knowing God's glory – like going through difficulties (persecution, etc.) in faith. Note the -ma suffix, emphasizing the end-result (experiencing strong feeling).

I was reading a book about prophetic gift and it said that you can’t find your true Holy calling without going through time of Pathéma.

I was just thinking how many have been going true this kind of ordeals and did it change you immediately?
Did you have many of these kind of experiences or just one.

Been through one in my past which dealt with unrepentant sins of mine over many years.

Am going through one now, with my wife as a fellow traveler with me, which deals with the sins of a Relative who is also unable to care for himself, over many years now.

I know we shall make it through this one, or die trying. I also know I will be much stronger on the other side of this. My first time, I didn't know what was happening to me, but, this time I know this is why I was born. To be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Fear is an emotion.
Faith is an attitude.
Focus is a choice.

Also;

Sow a thought and reap an action.
Sow an action and reap a habit.
Sow a habit and reap a character.
Sow a character and reap a destiny.

Some preachers really are worth listening to.

Beloved one, I consider not just having one experience but many. Much I have suffered what was wrong, and now much more I have suffered what was right. When I suffered for what was wrong, I repented, be converted and prayed that my faith fail not but that I may have the love of Christ that fail not, and I be strengthened through the Holy Spirit, that I may able to strengthen my brethren.

So for what I have suffered for what was wrong, I responded to the Lord’s grace of repentance and believe that I have received His loving kindness and tender mercies, that my transgressions were blotted out. Every day I responded to what our Lord have told me:
““For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So I have met the Lord’s condition by asking the Lord to give me the strength to forgive those who wronged me, and believe I received His strength then and every day, I am releasing forgiveness to those who wronged me. And having been justified, I have peace with God the Father through Christ. Through Christ, I have access by faith into this grace which I stand and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

When I have suffered for what was right, I rejoice, that I am counted worthy to partake of His sufferings. For I provide myself to suffer with Him and for Him in order to be glorified with Him. For we heard:
For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. -2 Corinthians 1:5

Beloved one, about sufferings that we need to consider whether we suffered for what was wrong and right, and get back quickly to His grace, that we may always find favor in the Lord’s sight.

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.

You do see your on quote on the end of your posts ?

The Spirit of truth guides us into all truth.

Why do you think you needed a book on being prophetic, to guide you also ?

I can tell you my way if you like.

I had some kind of understanding of the prophecies in the bible, and had all interest in it, and I got a book that said it was giving more interpretation about prophecy. As I began to read, i I could see it was not sincere, and I immediately stopped.

I didn't understand by then, how Jesus says all before Him where thieves and robbers, and the sheep did not hear them, so I then understood, it is not possible to hear anyone else when anyone hears the Shepherd of the sheep.

If this book has told you about suffering, and ordeals, why did you not notice that this is what the whole Gospel reveals about Jesus, why did you need a prophetic book to show you, that this is reserved for a chosen few ?

Not only that is not true then, as the way to life is through much tribulation, but it shows to me that this book not only wants you to believe in it, but also it is taking off the path that every one on the narrow path to life is on, one few find and wish they never had when they go through such sufferings of Christ, but they have nowhere other to go, you cant go back to hell, it is not a way.

Do not not want to know the devil approaches all in this world through flattery, and God saves man from that through that suffering ? The fact the book teaches and catches people by showing the way, means the way ( to begin suffering) is never learned, as it was the suffering that was the beginning of the way, just as the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

Good to know im not alone with this, God bless you :amen:
Beloved one, when we suffered for what is right, we suffered opposition, we suffered contempt, mockery and slander, let us run to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us accept the gift of humility. Let us rejoice as we partake of the Lord’s sufferings.

Let us meditate what Lord have spoken in John 16:16-24.

This resound in my heart, about the gift of joy , that the Lord spoke of :

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. -John 16:22

As our beloved apostle, have said:

For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. -2 Corinthians 1:5

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. -2 Corinthians 1:7

So beloved one, let not our hope be shaken, let us believe through Christ, our hearts will rejoice and believe that no one will take our joy of the Lord from us.

Beloved one, let God hear of our faith and pray according to what our Lord Jesus have spoken:

Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. -John 16:24

Beloved one, let us pray in the Lord’s name, ask for the joy of the Lord, that we will receive, that our joy may be full, now.

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.

Absolutely, suffering because of faith is greatest joy there is. We grow in Christ and our hope and joy will grow unshakable. It’s like refining process.
Hallelujah!

I didn’t need that book for ”helping me for being prophetic” I got that book because I wanted to hear someone’s personal experience as a prophetic person. I don’t go to church, I don’t meet people like that in my daily life. You have no idea how many times I buy a book and just get disappointed because It’s mostly just nonsense. Derek Prince has books which are 100% God given knowledge and I don’t regret buying them. He has taught me a lot about bible, God was guiding me into his teachings.. God knows the best.
Bible has everything we need to know. That doesn’t mean im interested reading other stuff aswell. I could read how to grow carrots or whatever im interested.. that doesn’t mean I don’t walk in the Spirit. That doesn’t mean I believe something that contradicts the bible.

And Btw the book about prophetic gift was nonsense mostly. I don’t recommend it to anybody.

Beloved one, recently I have reconsidered again 2 Corinthians 12:9 with we also have heard :
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I perceived that God’s grace is His strength, and that is made perfect by His Spirit in our weaknesses, for he helps us by interceding for us or praying for us.

So I perceived that God the Father longs to hear of our faith in Christ !

For we also heard:
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved one, so we should perceive that God works miracles among us by hearing of our faith.

So we should not let any thoughts contrary, that stay on our minds, but we should stand steadfastly speaking of our faith to God, for we are His children and that He hears us.

This something new, that I perceive today. I just like to share with you and all who love God sincerely.

To God be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.

I chose the first thing in a long list on this website, Derek Prince Teaching Legacy

I can go through every single one if you wished, it is what I do in this life.

Derek Prince:

file:///C:/Users/HP11/Documents/TL10-6.pdf

"The last portion of 2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “That you, always having all suffi ciency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” The purpose for which God supplies abundance is not merely selfi sh indulgence. Don’t get me wrong. I believe God likes to see us enjoying His provision. It makes Him happy. But that is not the ultimate purpose. Rather, it is that we will have abundance “for every good work.” The purpose of abundance is that we will be able to do everything God asks us to do with complete suffi ciency"

First look up the quote of 2 Corinthians 9, and it says in Psalms 112, that his heart ( the heart of Christ) is established, and not afraid until He sees His desire upon His enemies.

Then we understand, Christ dispersed, Christ gave to the poor, then the righteousness of Christ remains forever, and His horn is exalted, and the wicked see this done on earth and were grieved, to be left gnashing with teeth and perish..

Luke 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Psalm 112:8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

Now you know this is Jesus who distributed to the poor ( His life and His Spirit) so here it is confirmed for you right now..

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

That quote in 2 Corinthians 9:9 from Psalms 112:9, speaking about His righteousness endureth "forever" also was spoken about the Messiah in Daniel 9:24, of the reconciliation to God and to bring in everlasting righteousness( by Christs poverty to make us rich , His dispersing to the poor, His horn ) of salvation in David) being exalted..

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Derek Prince and all preachers who came to this earth, speak of themselves, not of Christ, otherwise why do I have to correct them all, on all things.

I perceived that God’s grace is His strength, and that is made perfect by His Spirit in our weaknesses, for he helps us by interceding for us or praying for us.

”For when im weak, then im strong”

2 Corinthians 12:10

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

God’s power is made perfect in weaknesses. But only if you have faith.
Faith is the key.
Is easy to say that you have faith but what matters the most is
actions. What does your actions tell about you?
(Not talking about you personally but everyone, including me)
God bless you brother in Christ.

Beloved one, many concerns how they may have faith. Though they may have heard a lot about faith, yet when they are weak — they considered themselves not to have faith.
Why ? Because they have not perceived contrary thoughts ! They have not perceived that thoughts that they didn’t have faith, are not their thoughts. They have not considered that the demons disguised as their thoughts.

Have we not heard this:
“casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So thought that we didn’t have faith, we ought to bring that thought into captivity— LOCK THAT THOUGHTS AWAY ! For we ought to bring every thought to obedience of Christ.

How we stay assured that we have faith ?

This is what we have heard:
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Beloved ones, confess as apostle Peter confess ! For we are servants and elects of Christ Jesus that have obtained like precious faith with holy apostles through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen

Beloved ones, we ourselves are assured that we have faith because we have heard the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, that is revealed to us from Christ’s faith to our faith.

For we also heard:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So in the gospel of Jesus Christ, the righteousness of God is revealed from Christ’s faith to our faith. We whom the Father has made righteous through His Son, live by the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ.

So how have we lived ? This is what we have heard:
“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

For we are not to be ignorant of God’s righteousness, and we don’t seek to establish our own righteousness and we submit ourselves to the righteousness of God. This is how we should live by. We whom the Father has made righteous through His Son, live by the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ.

How about actions ? Many are troubled about this, seem to go in loop and trapped. Because they have not perceived what the Lord have said through apostle James:

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved ones, we should look into the perfect law of liberty, that we should perceive as we see into the gospel of Christ. And we who continue in the gospel of Christ and is not a forgetful hearer, that means, we should not forget what we have heard. So we who remember what we have heard is the doer of the work. If we forget what we have heard, we can’t be doer of the work. So we should hold fast what we have heard and we will be blessed in what we do.

Beloved one, we hold fast what we have heard Christ have spoken Himself and through His holy apostles— we hold fast the Spirit and Life !

For we heard our Lord Himself said:
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and life. -John 6:63

Also, apostle Paul have said:
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭1:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved ones, we hold fast the sound words which we have heard from the Lord and His holy apostles, we hold fast in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus — we live by the Spirit.

Also, apostle Paul continued saying:
“That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

That good thing, is the faith and love in Christ Jesus — which was committed to us, we keep by the Holy Spirit who dwell in us.

So that good thing, which we have heard from the Lord and His holy apostles, we keep by the Holy Spirit who dwell in us.

So that good thing, which we have heard from the Lord and His holy apostles, we obey by the Holy Spirit who dwell in us.

Having heard of faith and love that is in Christ Jesus, we are strengthened through the Holy Spirit who dwell in us, to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. For we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit, work by faith or live by faith. For the just live by faith. For those who work faith— work by the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ.

To God be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.

Why ? Because they have not perceived contrary thoughts ! They have not perceived that thoughts that they didn’t have faith, are not their thoughts. They have not considered that the demons disguised as their thoughts.

Have we not heard this:
“casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Amen brother.

Amen brother.
Beloved one, many are concerned with what apostle James have said:
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Many perceive according to the flesh what apostle James have spoken, and they should repent, be converted and let us pray that their faith fail not, so that they may taste that the Lord is gracious and that times of refreshing may come to them from the presence of the Lord.

For we also heard:
“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So we should look or perceive into the perfect law of liberty, that is, the gospel of Christ, and continues in the gospel, and we are not forgetful hearers but doers of the work, we are the ones who will be blessed in what we do.

For we who look or perceive into the perfect law of liberty, that is, the gospel of Christ, are doers of the work.

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen

Indeed we are to walk in the Spirit so we can discern the perfect will of God in our lives.

Indeed we are to walk in the Spirit so we can discern the perfect will of God in our lives.
Beloved one, how we know that we walk in the Spirit?

This is what we have heard our Lord Himself said:
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and life. -John 6:63

We who walk in the Spirit, walk in the words that Christ have spoken.

Beloved one, how we discern the perfect will of God ?

Beloved one, consider what our Lord said:
You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. -Matthew 5:48

So don’t believe, the world said that you can’t be perfect but believe what our Lord said.

How to discern what our Lord said ?
This is what we have heard :

“the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:8-10‬ ‭NKJV

“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Are we not those who are being sanctified ? We are.

So by one offering He has perfected forever us who are being sanctified.

Beloved one, we must consider not only our Lord has put away our sin but we must perceive His works in us, that we may gain counsel, that apart from sin, He is our High Priest who perform the service in regard to conscience, that we should no longer have consciousness of sin, and reflect the glory of God in the image of His Son.
For we heard:

“To them God WILLED to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

To God the Father be thanksgiving through Christ. Amen.

Beloved one, I am glad and rejoice that our sins and iniquities He will remember no more, and that He has put His law of Spirit of
Life in our hearts and minds.

This is what apostle Paul affirm to us:
“You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Amen.
To God be the glory. Amen
