Got all the food delivered after I ate. Going for a visit and then heading home. Happy Thanksgiving all! I might have a couple cocktails tonight to unwind.

Couldn't have a Thanksgiving due to circumstances but I cooked hamburgers lol.
Hey, I LOVE hamburgers, besides that, it doesn't matter what a person eats for Thanksgiving, we always ate what ever we felt like on that day, what is important is that you are all together, food is just a nice addition as far as I am concerned. LOL, I even had hot dogs one year and enjoyed it just as much, if not more, than turkey, to be honest, I do not like turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all.

If I could snap my fingers and all of a sudden all the Thanksgiving items showed up a the kitchen table, hot and steaming, that would be one thing. But it doesn't work that way. I don't dislike turkey (I do love the sides of Thanksgiving though, so it kind of hurts me not to have those) but even when we used to have good Thanksgivings, I would ask myself "I like this stuff but should we have to do this much work for it?"

My hamburgers turned out kind of dry though, but I ate it with thanksgiving (no pun intended). The fries (they were Ore Ida lol) got overcooked though :sigh: Several survived, so I focused on those.

Glad everyone enjoyed their day. I just got home a little while ago. I am absolutely stuffed. Had a massive feast, turkey stuffing and multiple sides. Followed by multiple deserts. Had some laughs. I of course treated the 3 dogs to many treats . Had a nice relaxing day

I remember our Thanksgivings in Cle Elum, it seems like it took so long to prepare and to clean up, the food was always tasty, but man, I agree, does it have to require so much prep and clean-up? That being said, however, I would do it all over again just to have my hear folks and friend back for another Thanksgiving.

Yesterday, even though New Zealand doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, Steve and I had a special dinner. We had chicken, it was a delicious whole chicken that you cook in its bag, it is called "Chicken in a bag" very easy and very moist, no additives, just a chicken that they have prepared and put into a plastic bag for cooking, it stays in the bag so no mess for that part at least. We also had baby peas, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and for dessert a delicious slice of banana cream pie. I was pleasantly full after-wards. All in all, it was nice, but I will admit that I shed a tear or two over my dear parents, I do all holidays though, so it is nothing new, I do it in private, I don't want Steve to feel bad, he would try to comfort me, but it embarrasses me. Oh well. Such is life. (((((hugs))))

A whole chicken is a good alternative. It's filling without making your gut as hard as a basketball (like turkey does). It doesn't make you sleepy if you get full on it. There's chicken stuffing if you don't do turkey stuffing. It goes just as well with typical Thanksgiving sides as turkey does. It's a win-win.
