Convince me it's false. Tell me that the government has a degree of responsibility for the health of its people, and you'll have a case.
I’ve not made that argument.

Do you support "right to work" laws or not? If so then I am uncertain what your complaint is here. The woman is not following the requirements for her job and is therefore being terminated.

It became a requirement for her 21 year long career for the first time by Presidential edict on her employers.

Three months ago her job was not in jeopardy -

That is the issue.

How much of your freedoms are you willing to give up?

Which presidential edict is that? As I understand most hospitals are requiring covid vaccination for their staff regardless of any directive from the White House.

3 months ago she could have gotten vaccinated and her job would not be in jeopardy.

Show me where anyone has a right to a specific job.

Is she violating the requirements of her employer or not? Do you or do you not support right to work laws?

I don't know what hospital she works for, but vaccine mandates at hospitals have been a thing since at least the mid-2000s. Here's an article about it from 2009: Mandatory Vaccination of Health Care Workers (nih.gov)

And the Presidential edict is currently stayed, so her termination is not due to that.

Yep, I stand to lose my job if this thing is allowed. Good news is, I'm tired of that job anyway. Even greater news - it's turned by very liberal sibling against the left.

Yeah hopefully this mandate is held off for another 4-6 months because I’m planning to buy a dump truck and start working for myself. Then all this won’t matter to me at all.

He paid a $5 fine.

The size of the fine doesn't matter at all in the current debate.

The fact that the Supreme Court supported the existence of a vaccine mandate is what is key here.

I really get that people don't want to take orders...it's anathema to our sense of being a free American. But, in reality, we already do take orders on many, many fronts. We do this because we are a social group, America.

The reason vaccine mandates exist is because of the unique aspect to transmissible diseases. If person A chooses to be vaccinated while person B does not person B's actions are actually helping to make things worse for everyone. It helps the virus stay active and mutate into other forms which may be resistant to the vaccine, and it helps to cause great harm or death to those those who are physically incapable of taking the vaccine.

I see a vaccine mandate as a kind of special case in which society's greater good is served. But then I am also blessed in that I don't necessarily fear the vaccine. I think there are a lot of people who fear the vaccine and I feel for them when they are forced to make this choice.

What post? Because if you are referring to post 145 it does not answer my questions, it simply makes incorrect assertions.

Looks like a bunch of Navy Seals are suing the Biden Administration over the mandate.

Navy SEALs sue Biden administration over COVID mandate | FOX 28 Spokane
I don't see how they could possibly succeed in their suit. The Navy (along with the rest of the US military) mandates a TON of vaccines for servicemen/women, and every religious exemption I've seen for the COVID vaccine would apply to many other vaccines, so unless they were exempted from those other vaccines when they joined up, their complaint is BS.

What Govts and Media Are Not Telling You About Vaccine Mandates - UncoverDC

It would be well for everyone to read the above link to see how inapplicable the 1905 Jacobson case is to the current Biden Regime mandate. The 1905 mandate was a LAW passed by the Massachusetts State legislature. The Biden OSHA mandate is pure fiat issued from the Biden regime abusing his executive authority and trampling on grounds reserved for the States. No legislative input at all.

And the court that upheld the fine actually issued this warning.

t might be that an acknowledged power of a local community to protect itself against an epidemic threatening the safety of all, might be exercised in particular circumstances and in reference to particular persons in such an arbitrary, unreasonable manner, or might go so far beyond what was reasonably required for the safety of the public, as to authorize or compel the courts to interfere for the protection of such persons.”

“Before closing this opinion, we deem it appropriate, in order to prevent misapprehension as to our views, to observe—perhaps to repeat a thought already sufficiently expressed, namely—that the police power of a State, whether exercised by the legislature or by a local body acting under its authority, may be exerted in such circumstances or by regulations so arbitrary and oppressive in particular cases as to justify the interference of the courts to prevent wrong and oppression.”

That's still dozens of highly trained SEALS gone, but I suppose we shouldn't worry about silly things like national security when the Navy can just go recruit Bob off the street to fill those spots. Ability and skill is highly overrated after all.
