• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, we should take the jab not knowing?
Nah, just reject the rest of medical care along with it and stay home so the hospitals can cope.

No, because I cannot say absolutely or would claim that everyone who's unvaccinated willfully and has no legitimate reasons voted for Trump, for example, or even that they're Republican.

Maybe right leaning, but that's pretty vague and could apply to people who are otherwise not that irrational and actually would be considered semi progressive and forward thinking. But they let their confirmation bias ruin any sense of humility or intellectual discussion because of emotional entanglement to an issue that doesn't necessarily require it to this extent
Or maybe they just have enough common sense not to take an untested substance into their body, and politics has nothing to do with it...

at this rate yes. In fact I do not know if you have read all 900ish replies but I shared some HARSH words for the people who do not earlier in this thread. Pretty much you old enough to refuse the vaccine you are old enough to be legally prepared to die. Get your final affairs in order and do not seek treatment if that decision backfires on you.

So if I die of heart disease it's my fault because I didn't get vaccinated?
Does not compute.
It was a straight forward comment, sorry it’s causing computational issues on your end.

Common sense is appealing to mere commonality, which is ad populum fallacy, nice try of this idea that sense is necessarily common in a modern time where we get bombarded with so much information we're more likely to make poor decisions when we have no impulse control

It's VERY tested, actually and politics has everything to do with it because it was needlessly politicized in the conspiracy theories the former president brought up, plus misinformation that has gotten people killed because we think everyone's totally smart enough to make their own decisions and then they prove us wrong

Lol, all this for a 1 percent chance of death?
Why would I not seek treatment? Vaccinated people are seeking treatment for covid. Guess it didn't work so well for them.

May have side effects years down the road, best avoid it along with the vaccination.

And the thousands and thousands of people claiming side effects are lying, but the government is honest? Again, not common sense.

Bad choices are not a good reason to not treat someone. We are repeating ourselves so good day.
You do realize that is exactly a reason some people are not treated right? ever try to get a liver transplant as a drinker, or a lung transplant as a smoker?

because there are too many people seeking treatment for co-vid after the decision backfires on them to the point that other things are being canceled and other people are dying of NON-co-vid related things because there are not enough resources. Yes people who took the vaccine are in the hospital, but in TINY numbers compared to the folks to did not 90+ percent do not have the vaccine. If you are at least 18 ( old enough to make medical decisions without anyone's consent you are old enough to have your final affairs in order and be (legally) prepared to meet your maker does not mean you do not feel like you do not have a lot of life to live, but old enough to make that decision old enough to deal with and be prepare for the possible fatal consequence.

Antibiotics aren’t used to treat COVID.
Casirivimab/imdevimab, sold under the brand name REGEN-COV among others, is a medicine developed by the American biotechnology company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. It is an artificial "antibody cocktail" designed to produce resistance against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic.

That's not an antibiotic?

Best avoid it, could have side effects in a few decades.

Does not compute.
No one's saying that, nice try. If you die of heart disease and don't test positive for covid, it's not going to be reported as a factor. If you're asymptomatic and it could've exacerbated the heart disease, then it's likely going to be reported as a comorbidity, but not the primary cause, so I wouldn't necessarily report it as a covid death, but I'm also potentially also leaning towards it as such because we've seen it can exacerbate those pre existing conditions.

If you just don't care and die of heart disease by your own inaction, your vaccination status is only relevant if you contracted symptomatic covid in particular, because the vaccine is meant to reduce hospitalizations and deaths from that

So this one thing that happens to have preventative treatment capacity must mean every antibiotic works? Hasty generalization!
