Pu.Lease. EVERY opportunity? Frankly, I'm pretty surprised that the left side has lasted this long in the face of fear and misinformation. Over the last couple months there has certainly been a growing number of folks online who are more "fine, if they wanna die, go ahead". But even THAT has now changed because they see that even if those people don't die but DO end up the hospital, those resources are pulled away from even LESS preventable emergencies. They are singing "Another one bites the dust." at every opportunity. Look at the headlines for the last two years! Do you think they were altruistic about it when Trump got Covid?
The original point was pretty solid; if the left REALLY wanted all of your to die, they would NOT be encouraging you to get the vaccine.
Just as a summary:
374,000,000 vaccine doses adminstered.
3 deaths DIRECTLY linked to blood clots caused by J&J (note: Blood clots are not an uncommon side effect in medication [birth control has something like, 20x the number of blood clots per million as I recall. Strangely, birth control is considered "completely safe"]
up to 6000ish where it COULD have contributed.
Worst case:
That's 0.000016%
COVID cases:
40,000,000 (that is 10.6% of the number of vaccine doses given)
648,000 deaths
Worst case: 1.6% chance
And, let me be VERY VERY clear, I don't even think deaths are the biggest problem wiht COVID though they are certainly a problem I would have thought people would have stood up to take notice of.
Experts are saying about 30% of ALL COVID cases are long cases. I personally know several people who contracted it in April of LAST year who are still suffering. My wife got COVID last October and she has been NOTICEABLY more forgetful and describes her mental state as "foggier" compared to preCOVID. For some reason the "Long COVID" story is never told or discussed even though these events affect people of ALL ages.
Oh, and wouldn't you know it! Vaccines cut the chance of long COVID by half (at least this is what the data shows so far)
But let's say you are in your 40s:
4,565,870 cases in this age range
23, 194 deaths
That is a death rate of: 0.4%
That is still 25,000x safer than the vaccine
I'm sorry but those people who say that the vaccine is dangerous are just not comparing the vaccine to health outcomes. It's just not rational or data based.
I want to believe you but your side just present such.terrible.evidence that it is so easily dismissed. And please help me understand why I should be swayed by terrible evidence?Your equation is based on a false premise, fed to you by the supposed altruistic 'experts' and politicians and press. Like I said, I don't doubt YOU mean well; but you are deceived.
For those people who refuse a vaccine for that reason, I can only assume that they are 100% pro-choice.FWIW my best friend (an atheist) watches only ABC news daily, and also believes the numbers you do, hates Trump, hates rich people, hates talk radio —the whole works; but otherwise he is at heart rather conservative. (Refuses to wear a helmet on his Harley, never activistic, hates taxes, believes what he earns and owns is his, thinks he might have to die if the laws say he has to give up his weapons, thinks Gov is getting out of hand, hates Congress, refuses to stop working and live off Gov though his body is pretty bad off and he could get disability if he wanted to, and this should please you —he doesn't vote).
He refuses the vaccine because he refuses to put something into his body he isn't altogether sure about.
Is that fair to say about your friend?
While I disagree with both stances, I do appreciate the consistency.
