• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I found out my Christian father has a inappropriate content addicton and I feel very concerned about it. I know the right thing is to tell it to my mother, but I'm embarassed to do it because my mother doesn't discuss with me about intimate relations almost none. I activated a filter which blocks these sites on his phone but I feel it's not enough, I don't have to keep it secret from mom.
How should I speak with her about it?
Please, pray for my family!

I don't think that you should expose what you think your father is doing to your mother.

Perhaps you can have a discussion about it with your father ... (i.e. just the fact that you know/suspect).

Or ... perhaps you can speak to a minister ... and seek counseling as to what, if anything, you should do.

Good advice so far, realizing that we only have a few lines in the story that probably has pages of information. What came to mind in reading the thread is that it's one thing to discuss the facts (this is what I saw, come and see for yourself) and it's another thing to discuss speculations that might have a different conclusion than the one you came to. Again, the voices out here only have a few details to go on, but hopefully it will be helpful in your concern.

Hmm yeah I agree not knowing 100% could really backfire.. I think having someone to talk to.. might help better. Like the world.. Christ said I didn't come to condemn the world but to save it. They already feel guilty bad awful.. they need someone to reach down help them out. What might since I don't know effect your father.. effects most young people today more then ever.

I don't know what you believe... but to help.. I will pray He the lord of lords king of kings to give you wisdom.. You will know its from GOD.. you will have great peace.

There you have it....you have seen inappropriate content.......does this mean you are now an Addict? I think not.... Looking at a picture doesnt mean you are addicted to looking at those pictures.

I think you are reading too much into it.

I must admit I looked in his history because I wanted to know if he's an addict and he watches it every day

Ultimately, this is an issue he will have to work out between God and himself.

To bring your mother into it would only hurt her, cause conflict, and not necessarily solve the problem.

Pray about it, and let God work it out.

Welcome to CF. I have to be honest, this is the first time I have come across a daughter who caught their Father viewing inappropriate contentography. It is usually the wife. That being said, your mother already knows so I suggest to not interfere.
