  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is not approved yet. Only for "emergency use". So...not approved.
So many questions..
Why don't we have testing available to see who has and hasn't had it? They won't need a vaccine? Haven't we heard over and over how people can have it especially younger people and not have known it?

There is testing for antibodies. It is usually called a titer test (or a pcr test). The patient has to pay for the titer test. Vaccines (most if not all) typically free now if you have insurance and I believe the Covid vaccine is free to everyone I believe.

Thanks for the info.
Why should someone have to pay for it? Why waste vaccines? Why make people not needing to risk anything pay?

For covid vaccines, they're free even if you don't have insurance. If you have insurance, it's free to YOU, but they'll charge your insurance.

Very poorly worded. It sounds like you are saying a titer test and a pcr test are the same. They are not even similar.

What ever happened to testing? The nurses could be tested to see if they have Covid or not, and then sent home if they do. It worked before. All those doctors and nurses wearing the fully enclosed protective gear before there was a vaccine. What happened to that? Those nurses worked very long shifts and sacrificed being with their families because they didn't want to risk bringing the virus home, so they lived in RVs and motels. Now they're being fired from their job and labeled as if they "don't care about their patients".
How quickly this country turns against the people they held up as heroes less than a year ago!
I was thinking the same thing. How many of these risked their lives for their patients when this first hit? I am curious if any were offered tests for antibodies and if it mattered had they had them?

Anti covid vax, is fear of it's fast development, and the unknown's of future issues. Many which are fearful have had traditional vaccines. They have been in use for years and years.

Those "traditional vaccines" were new once

Well, that could end up being the choice to struggle to put a roof over your head (and kids), or food on the table, etc. let alone send them to college, or have medical for yourself.
Yes, ignoring reality to accept anti-vaxx propaganda has real world consequences. Who could have imagined? Why, before we know it the virus might stop paying attention to their opinions on the subject as well.

Emergency use=approved for use. The pandemic wasn't willing to wait on the usual slow pace of approval.

Did you feel the same way about the "treatments" promoted by the EX President and hucksters like Jim Bakker?

To some degree, yes. But when autocrats rule, it can be an issue, which may not be limited to this.
I guess if it ever becomes an actual issue rather than a hypothetical one someone can start a thread on it. But why not stick to what's actually happening now in this discussion?

Hospitals do not exist for the purpose of giving people jobs. Hospitals exist for the purpose of treating illness. Employees are merely the human resources that help hospitals achieve that purpose. If employees aren't willing to be part of helping patients stay well, they aren't helping fulfill the hospital's purpose and, therefore, are no longer needed by the facilty. It's as simple as that.

Yes, the consequences are certainly becoming real.

Nothing to pay attention to. Move on nothing to see here.

I see no reason presented to believe this claim, and this thread and others have provided lots of evidence that is it simply not true.
Well, of course. Big tech shuts it down. Just last night I was watching a Dr. on t.v. and he made a video concerning some really good outcomes of therapeutics. Prevention as well as treatment if applied early. It was shut down. Journalism is doing the same. So no, there is not much to present to you. So your covered from any argument here. But for others, it causes fear and doubt.

People are screaming for the government to make more regulations against corporations' freedoms regarding employment and termination.
No crisis goes to waste.
I am trying to be realistic, that is not likely to happen in a republican state.
Oh, it is real.
