You've managed to get basic accounting and cladistics completely wrong in a single sentence.
Oh, really? do you know the difference between a DEBIT and a CREDIT in basic bookkeeping?

Given my profession (CPA), yes, I kinda do.

And yes, debits and credits are typically on the left and right respectively in T-account notation (which is rarely used these days), but that doesn't make debits and credits synonymous with "left" and "right". You could use them in reverse (credits on the left); as long as the T-account was labelled appropriately it wouldn't be technically incorrect. Just confusing, I suppose.

There are better metaphors you could have used if you wanted to invoke accounting terminology. This wasn't one of them.

As long as you don't understand, I'm sure you think your remark in Post 179 was justified.

What do you think I don't understand here?
Positioning.

Left side: kind, genus, sinister, debit

Right side: species, dexterous, credit

I also made up the term "evolutionary bookkeeping" to help; but it must have gone over your head.

(Or dismissed out-of-hand.)

And I said, debit and credit are not strictly synonymous with left and right. You could reverse them and as long as the chart was labelled such, it wouldn't be technically incorrect.

You're making bad metaphors that don't make any sense when one actually understands the subjects involved.

I also made up the term "evolutionary bookkeeping" to help; but it must have gone over your head.

You make up a lot of terms I've noticed. It's not that it's going over my head; it's just further reinforcing that you don't understand the material in question.

I wasn't being strict.

You are ... and it's confusing you.

I'm a CPA by trade. You're trying to tell me what my profession's terminology means and getting it wrong in the process.

If you want to keep doubling down, by all means. But it's not a good look for you at this point.

I'm a CPA by trade.
And I graduated summa cum laude with an AA in business administration.

That means I took Bookkeeping, Accounting I, Accounting II, Accounting III, Sales Accounting, and Cost Accounting.

Straight A's.

Made one mistake on the Accounting I final: didn't double underline the net total.

That's life.

I always knew we could count on you. I imagine you are generally well balanced.
He needs to put 2 and 2 together though; but he's not willing to.

Probably because it gives him fodder for ridicule.

And as someone who worked in a public accounting firm for over a decade, my job was to identify and correct accounting errors made by folks like yourself. ;)

Put the emphasis on the Linnaean facet, chief, not the accounting facet.

You're not at work now (I assume).

I don't know what this is supposed to mean.

(Though I suspect it's going to involve more mangling of terminology.)

I think he means that though it looks like he made a mistake when you look at things the right way he wasn't wrong. He never seems comfortable being wrong, which is odd considering how much practice he has had at it.
