If a hundred people who like President Trump -- along with some others who hold other political views -- attacked the Capitol, how is that different from the thousands of Leftists who burned, looted, attacked government buildings, and injured people on many occasions last summer...

and are almost never mentioned, unless it's done with admiration, by people who are so desperate to keep their own version of what happened on January 6 endlessly before the public?

Your whole post is nothing but a narrative. You want to believe these people had both started out to murder pence and that they had it all planned and there was a good possibility if they were not stopped Pence would be hung.

I'm sure they planned to murder someone -- whoever they could get their hands on. Certainly they went out of their way to make people think they were out for blood.

Fortunately, they were neither prepared nor competent enough to get past Capitol security, and only managed to get four of their own number killed.

I personally consider this on the level of fantasy myself. I've seen college pranks similar to this gallows bit and it means nothing but a way to vent frustration as nobody got hung.... ever.

Maybe in your neck of the woods, hanging up nooses is a typical cure for boredom on a Tuesday night, but in most of the country, it's serious business.

I personally consider this on the level of fantasy myself. I've seen college pranks similar to this gallows bit and it means nothing but a way to vent frustration as nobody got hung.... ever.

I don't think I'd use the word 'prank' to describe someone hanging a noose outside my house. Pranks are supposed to be funny, and I don't think most people would find that humorous. At least, I hope they wouldn't. I feel like 'threat' is the better term for it.

But let's look at some other aspects. They'd been chanting 'Hang Mike Pence' quite often that day, and that phrase had been trending on Twitter. We have reports of people straight up saying they were looking for Pence to try and execute him. We even had comments like this:

Now, you're right, we'll never know whether that noose would've worked, as they never found Pence. But given the comments and threats that had been building over the past few days and the untrue expectations Trump had built over the past few days, I think it's safe to say that, had they gotten to him, it wouldn't have resulted in a reasonable, sane exchange of peaceful ideas. At the very least some in that crowd were out to hurt him.

Innocent? The fact that she was where she was demonstrates that you are knowingly and deliberately breaking the 9th commandment.

I think that Epiphany (January 6) is an underappreciated holiday, celebrating the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles through the Magi is important and worthy of celebration. The people in Washington just lost sight of what was REALLY IMPORTANT on January 6, 2021. Presidents come and go, but Christ's reign is forever ... and we are just passing through this world. A candlelight prayer vigil surrounding the Capitol Building would have been more effective.

You're probably correct about that, but it wasn't placed outside some particular person's house and, what's more, it most likely was the work of one hothead individual. It is very wrong to point to this item (which we all think was uncalled for)...and then start talking about it "proves" that a revolution was organized and underway or that this is how Trump voters are, etc.

Well, apparently gallows are things that hothead individuals carry around in the trunk of their car, and toss up whenever the mood strikes them. Who knew?

Not saying it about all Donald's supporters -- but there's no question that there were some bad apples planning chaos ahead of time... the gallows is proof of that.

And the FBI knew it... which means the DOJ, DHS, and USSS knew it... which means Donald knew it.

The problem is..... people do stuff like the gallows quite often and to some it is funny just as to some music that denigrates women is listened to and make people rich that make it and it isn't good music to most.
I recall hearing on the news long ago last year about cops..... relating to calling them pigs and chanting fry them like bacon. Now is calling a police officer a slang term (denigrating them) and then saying you should burn them to death in the way bacon is cooked somehow LESS of a statement and threat than hanging a person by name?
I see it as far far worse because it is attacking a lot more people and ramping up rage against law enforcement.
We didn't hear any outrage from all of that... were you as upset over it as this gallows thing? I pretty much didn't like it but realized that it is free speech hate it or not and realized that it incites people to kill cops and realized that the media was IGNORING it when they should have been 10 times more enraged as millions of officers could be at risk over this who don't have protection 24/7 like Pence does..... they are essentially a target to be "fryed like bacon" by everyone who buys into the BLM chant. It is quite easy to find a cop to fry they are everywhere but trying to get to Pence is nearly impossible and to drag him to a prop gallows and hang him? dream on.
