I know Mercola fairly well from reading his newsletter for a few years (it was delivered in the mail to me for years) about 15-20 years or so back, and I remember he has a anti-mainstream medicine ideology.

And sales technique.

Write newsletters about the cures for so many things to be natural remedies, vitamins, herbs and such (which can indeed aid or help some things moderately well, and so it's not all false (just as it's not all what it's claimed also...)), and... sale, sale, sale.

Sale, sale, sale.

I remember Mercola quite well, from reading for so many years.

They are selling a hyped up and ultimately conspiratorial world view in which doctors 'don't want you to know' about etc. etc. etc. natural medicines that cost so much less.

And Mercola will sell to you. For more than you would have to pay from another brand typically, as I recall when I started comparing prices.

Mercola, the author of the article you linked -- was for years useful to me and I told people about his advice.

Way back in the late 1990s through the early 2000s, as I read him for years in his newsletter.

Consider Mercury in vaccines --

Mercola was already getting anti-vaccine by the 2000s, and at first I didn't take that as overly important.

It was just good advice to try to avoid vaccines with Mercury. It was obvious (and correct) the Mercury used in a many vaccines was not good to have, as Mercury is a toxin (a neurotoxin).

But Mercola didn't stop there.

At first I didn't worry about Mercola going off the rails mentally with more and more paranoid stuff about 'mainstream medicine' == demonizing the mainstream was his Cash Cow to help sell his expensive natural products.... which in time I learned cost more than good quality other brands anyone can find and buy instead.

I was just interested instead in any bit of good stuff Mercola could dig up on actual natural remedies and health stuff.

So, it looked more and more that Mercola was becoming caught up by his own hyperbolic advertising.

But, paranoia has a way of reinforcing itself -- it feeds on itself. It's a vicious circle. Better would be to put all His trust in the Lord, instead of in people that were trying to create a faith-based-on-herbs and such for how to live to 120 yrs old here and now.

Here's a fair article about Dr. Mercola from 2012, I was just reading, and it has some helpful examples of precisely what he was saying and what he was selling and what it cost. Notice that detail in the article, about paragraph 5.

The paragraph with actual prices of products he was pushing then.

Even if you just read paragraphs 1-3 and 5 you'd learn a lot pretty fast (about 1-2 minutes) about this very influential doctor turned salesman who was the most powerful influence to make the anti-vaccine movement gain speed (well before Russia found it to be useful lately to use for their own effort to push against democracy by harming nations that have real elections and real freedom.)
