I don't begrudge Lindell putting forth a platform and defining the limits of content and terms of moderation. Any platform provider is obligated to do these things.

What is comical is that Lindell, and Trump supporters who trumpeted Lindell's platform, made the claim that this was going to be different.

The only difference is who is deciding what is or isn't allowed. Frankly, it's not remotely a "you can say whatever you want" platform.

I guess technically if you don't actually open it, it's as restrictive as can be...?
But looks like it is scheduled for April 20...?

==
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell's social-media site Frank is now set to launch on April 20

Lindell also told Metaxas that Frank would be "the most secure platform ever" and that he uses all his own servers so that "they will not be able to break into it."

Because recovered(?) crack-addict coup-supporting Pillow-Conspiracists know a lot about cyber-security and it's not going to be like an enormous painted bullseye or anything like that.

RIIIIIIiiight. lol
But if it’s on his own server and he has the key to the unventilated cupboard in his house he keeps it in in his pocket and he keeps the password in his wallet in a different pocket how could anyone hack him?

Optimism. It's not for everyone.

Ok but the real question is... How insurrection friendly is this new platform going to be?

It might even require you to affirm participation in one.

From the "You dared me to do it", files: Mike Lindell is developing his own social media platform to replace YouTube and Twitter | 'Every single influencer person on the planet can come there'

"We're launching this big platform so all the voices of our country can come back and start telling it like it is again," said Lindell ...

"You will not need YouTube. You won't need these places. So it will be where everything can be told, because we've got to get our voices back," he explained. "People will be able to talk and not walk on eggshells."

Lindell said that he had been developing the platform for four years and that it was going to be broader than Twitter
.
The odds may be against him, but time will tell.

He'll make some money from it in a brief upsurge of interest, then it will slowly spiral down into lunacy and scandal and fizzle out like a Chinese firework in a puddle of its own spittle, and the internet's bottom feeders will crawl back to reddit sub forums for a bit of sanity.

What I found particularly funny is that he says his platform can handle up to a billion users. As if there's any platform for anything ever that would ever need enough muscle to handle 1/7th of the world's population at once.

Using his own servers and able to handle a billion users? Nope. Oh, im sure the primary key on the user table can be a billion. It could probably support a billion rows.

But a billion active users? No way.

So they've decided to use a 32-bit integer for the userID then. (Perhaps with a check bit or two.)

Asking for a phone number seems kinda sketch.

That's just for notifications. Other sites have that. Even my bank has that. But if you don't want notifications for early VIP access, just wait until it is online on April 20th.

I wonder if the people that he’s hired to set this up sold him on, “and at night, while it’s ‘slow’ you can mine Bitcoin!” ?
He’d better start “MyWildmill” right quick, if I’m correct.

Isn’t a “Privacy Policy” legally mandated on such a site?
That’s sketchy as all get-out!

“Gimme your phone number, no you can’t know what we’re going to do with it!”

What DeVos Charter School Science Club is doing his web services?
