"All Lives Matter" or "Blue Lives Matter" slogans were pretty obviously dreamed up, not as a meaningful critique of the BLM movement where the person saying these things absolutely agreed in the sanctity of life and that "police are important". Too many of the people who trotted out these lines did not really comport their arguments in line with the idea that all lives matter and frankly, more than a few people who said blue lives matter, didn't really have much to say about the cop who died on jan 6 nor the many cops injured (and certainly appeared totally uninterested in the racism cops experienced) that day.

Though it's quite likely some people still repeat these lines and perhaps truly do think that they matter, it caused me to wonder.

If you can't recognize the struggles of others or even acknowledge them and prefer to simply abandon them or ignore them, it seems FAR more precise to say that "No Lives Matter" instead of all lives.

If all lives mattered, you'd be able to recognize other people's struggles. Especially when they provide data and anecdotal evidence.

At least "All Lives Matter" is inclusive and does not discriminate by placing the skin color of any person above the importance of another.

If the system was inclusive, they wouldn't need to be protesting in the first place.

I get the meaning and import behind “Black Lives Matter”. The phrase is true. Black lives do matter. Black people are not target practice. They’re humans. Their safety, lives, right to due process, right to be assumed innocent until proven guilty, and to be brought into police custody safely and humanely if necessary, all matter.

Blue lives matter, too. Shooting a cop in the face, shooting a cop while he or she is just sitting in their cop car having lunch, targeting the police, or ridiculing and provoking the police as they do their job, is always wrong. They have a dangerous, difficult, tough job.

All lives also matter. We all matter. White lives and Christian lives, Muslim lives, and unborn human life, all matter. Everyone is precious to God, and is someone He loves, and wants to save.

To quote an Eastern Orthodox poster on here, “Eternal Life Matters “. Where we go when we die and how we use the gift of life and faith while we’re down here, matters, too. If we get too caught up with sloganeering and politics down here, we’ll miss that.

The issue is not with the slogan, it would be a fine slogan if the people behind it actually meant it and acted on it.

No one who throws that slogan around does anything that would help all lives, such as oppose over use of police violence. Instead it's used as a way to a silence people who say black lives matter. In fact there was that one guy who used a bow and arrow to threaten black lives matter protesters while yelling "all lives matter".

Given all this why is it that you have such a slogan in your signature?

No, you've made that abundantly clear many times.

I don't recall discussing what Alllivesmatter chants about in their protests. Perhaps we had this discussion "many times" in an alternate universe.

The signature itself explains that. Read past the first few words.

So knowing full well that others use that slogan to diminish and attack others you have decided to include it as your signature. Yet you also complain about people labeling you as racist, do you not see how these things might be linked?

Stating that all lives matter is hardly an attack, unless there are some lives you believe don't matter. I sure hope that's not the case.

I have signatures turned off, so I had to hunt for it.

Does “white” usually come first in lists of colors, that you might reel off, or only when it’s about people?
