Yes, it is groaning under the weight of entropy, thanks to the Fall.

If God's creation is still in progress, as some think, then why is He suddenly going to tear it apart and rebuild it?

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Notice your "big bang" comes at the end of time, not at the beginning as scientists assume.

Speaking of ancient geological stuff, did you see this in the last few years:

The first hard evidence of ancient earth being a water world was discovered in 2017, and so there have been quite a few articles by now, and this is only a recent one I just searched up.

God can not stop Creating as that's an essence of what God is. What you hear as a groan, I hear as the song of Creation.

What you hear as a groan, I hear as the song of Creation.

And what you see as a beautiful geological phenomenon (the Grand Canyon), I see as a rip in what was God's perfect creation.

Have you seen the Grand Canyon? I don't know how to see it other than a wonderful geological experience. Just as is the rest of this Creation.

There's a slight difference between the Earth with it's geological wonders and a pool table. Your Bible says that God says what He Created is "Very Good".

I tend towards Hildegard of Bingen words of the wonder of Creation:
