  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you knew me, you would know that "because you love your money" is a false statement. So, kindly apologize as you are bearing false witness!
If you haven’t given up everything for Jesus then you love your money there is nothing wrong in what I have said or false I have not made false witness at all you love your money that is why you are contradicting the commandment and words of Jesus.

Perhaps we are reading from different bibles. ;)
No perhaps we are hearing from different spirits there is the spirit of God and the spirit of the antichrist. You have heard from the spirit which you have that Jesus was rich and wore expensive clothing and this is contrary to the Scriptures.

So you’ve given up all your possessions otherwise there is nothing false I merely agreed with you no longer replying to me.

Yep, I realized that is why you agreed with me because if I stop, you'll just see yourself as right.

No, I haven't given up everything because not all Christians are to do so. It's not because I love money, which your statement says, which is false.

You're on a phone or computer or tablet, which I can only guess is your own. You have clothes that you wear, which I can only guess is your own.

What have you done to live this out if you think it is for all?

The word of God is for everyone there is no double standard the teachings of Jesus over everyone there is no double standard.

It is because you love money and because you doubt the provision of God.

You're on a phone or computer or tablet, which I can only guess is your own. You have clothes that you wear, which I can only guess is your own.

No I can’t keep repeating over and over and over and over again that once you’ve given up got all that God will provide for your needs.

What have you done to live this out if you think it is for all?

I gave up everything I had. And I continue to give away since Jesus said give to all the ask.

LOL the Bible doesn’t say this that summer to be Fireman and lawyers and police officers this is all your conjecture these are your faulse views they’re not biblical. What do you lacking is faith You do not believe in God’s provision and so you try to make the gospel say something that it does not so that you can believe it. Luke chapter 12 Clearly states you must give up all for the kingdom of heaven put the seeking of the kingdom of heaven first and then God will add all your needs to you which is what he did for Jesus and the disciples. Obviously this true gospel of giving up all for Jesus which he mentions more than numerous times in the Bible has not been preached around the world so the job is not been completed instead a compromised and manipulated gospel like the one that you follow is being pushed around the world.
I'm sorry but apparently you really need to take a course on how to read the Bible for you are really not taking in to account history into it all. When you read the Bible you MUST:
1)Consider the culture at the time
2)Consider the audience at the time that is spoken to
3)Consider who it is directed to be it only the audience, the culture/people at the time, Jews, Gentiles, believers, those under the Mosaic Law, those who are under the Gospel of Grace, Disbelieving Jews or Gentiles, anyone and everyone
4)Consider the relative time scale in relation to other important events
5)Consider the covenant that people are under at the time and if it is valid to you or not
6)Consider if the message is to be taken literally or not and by whom
7)Consider if it has multiple meanings or not to some it means X and others Y
With all of this in mind Jesus was speaking under the Law to Jews under the Law and was recruiting followers to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom. As at the beginning he had no followers (disciples) he needed to recruit some full time for several years and desired to have some to preach/minister/evangelize the rest of their lives as essentially almost nobody had heard the Gospel at that time. To ask people to give up everything to literally follow him as he was dedicating his life to spreading the Gospel and essentially 0% of the people had heard it at the time
If you recall he wouldn't even allow a man to bury his father when he asked him to follow him. Does this mean that if a relative of yours dies you aren't allowed to attend their funeral? So yes Jesus was asking people to PHYSICALLY give EVERYTHING up and follow him.. even relatives and families. He rejected a man who wanted to follow him because he wouldn't give up ONE thing..... so my call to give up EVERYTHING is very accurate and rejecting the idea for a watered down idea is basically rejecting Jesus while you "bury your dead".

Jesus says he who does not love me more than mother father sister brother is not worthy of me so yes indeed we must even give up our own family and their philosophies in order to follow the teachings of Jesus. Jesus stating that let the dead bury the dead Is stating not to continue morning and cherishing the memories and philosophies of the dead the way they lived the way they thought and instead to follow Jesus and his philosophies and teachings.

There is no double standard the same teaching Jesus spoke at that time for us also there are no two messages this is false.

Luke 14:33 So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.

He clearly said everyone meaning no one can be his disciple unless he gives up all his own possessions. You are the one who is reading it the way you wish to see it because you love your money.

Jesus was speaking to the wealthy lawyers and Pharisees, not the common people. He had an entirely different message for them.

I didn't say he was rich. I suggested that he wasn't poor.

It clearly states the Son of Man has no place to lay his head in the Scriptures also state those who claim to be in Jesus must live as he did.

Hardly on all accounts. You are bearing false witness against many in this thread. I suggest you repent as bearing false witness is a sin. I am even going to take a page out of your book and say you are the one bearing false witness against Jesus by claiming He means things He never meant for all Christians.

It meant that he had no suitable place in the society of the day.

He actually had three messages. One for the Jewish leaders, one for the disciples, and one for the common people.
