First I will add one more passage.
This is what Jesus was talking about, even quoting directly from the OP.
Mark 7:
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, Why do Your disciples not walk according
to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?
6 He answered and said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—the washing of
pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.
9 He said to them, All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

The Psalmist describes these people as fools. So did Yeshua. Matthew 23:17 , 19

The fool has said in his heart: there is no God.

Paul echoes the Psalms in his epistles. Without a pure heart,
someone who professes The Lord only with their lips have a mind
and conscience that are defiled.

16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being
abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron..
