By your definition, most bar room brawls are "insurrections". Let's stick to the crimes that were actually committed. People are claiming an "armed insurrection" when the police were the ones doing the shooting. People are claiming the mob had bombs when there were no bombs at the Capitol.

I admitted that a group of people were brawling with an Officer and someone hit him with a fire extinguisher (which means that person did not even bring a weapon to the Capitol with the intention to kill someone). The officer got up and returned to his station and later died from that injury. It sounds like manslaughter to me and the person/people responsible SHOULD be charged with the crime they committed. However, an armed militia with guns and bombs attacking the Capitol building is just NOT what happened that day. Pretending it is as an excuse to hate Trump and everyone that refuses to agree with the policies of Joe Biden is just plain fantasy.

[Hint: most people are not angry that Trump lost; they are angry because have lost confidence in the integrity of the process. Calling everyone on the right a "terrorist" fans the flames of that anger and mistrust. Something to keep in mind is the 48% conservatives have many more guns than the 52% liberals ... so they COULD have come shooting if that was their intent. Clearly shooting was not their intent.]

Fair enough, they didn't bring their bombs in with them, they left them in the car. But they did bring in their guns, that's what makes it "armed". If I rob a liquor store with a gun, but I don't shoot anybody, it's still armed robbery. What do you think it means to be armed?

You are ignoring the inconvenient facts about what really happened. Yes the trespassers should be charged with trespassing and the vandals should be charged with vandalism and the person/persons that assaulted the officer should be charged with manslaughter (or whatever charge is appropriate to their intent). However an unarmed mob pushing past the police is not an armed insurrection.

More Republican lies. They were not unarmed, nor did they "peacefully" assemble.
