Bizarre theories of false flag attacks will not help you. This was Trump supporters following the directions of a small man who was unable to admit his own failure. There is no giant conspiracy involving the vast quantities of republicans aligned with democrats aligned with antifa aligned with international observers.

Yes, he did. It was in a video taped Thursday in the Rose Garden. He admits that he won't be President after Jan. 20. He doesn't take any responsibility for the riot, but he condemns the violence in clearer terms than his statement on Wednesday:

"The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy," he said. "To those that engage in the acts of violence and disruption, you do not represent our country. To those that broke the law, you will pay."

I suspect much of the impetus for this is the fact that he realizes how much trouble he's in. Several of his staff members, including 2 Cabinet Secretaries, have resigned. His behavior has been blasted by former Cabinet members and by Presidents Bush and Obama. And I'm sure quite a few prominent Republicans are furious with him. And--at least in private--were calling for his head unless he denounces the actions of the mob.

I'm of the opinion that Donald Trump was the worst President in modern history. And will almost certainly be ranked by historians as the worst ever. His statement isn't a mea culpa. Some will say it's too little, too late. But I'll give him credit for finally taking some baby steps in the right direction.
