Defense against the British who were invading America at the time is what you're referring to. We have the right to defend the country against outside invaders.

If you had at least clicked on the link, you would have seen that they "took it to him" with a physical beating, and you still refer to those people as "protesters", which is what you have identified yourself as. That shows which side you're on and which actions you support.
