No one cares.

That has nothing to do with this. Stop trying to change the subject.

No one cares - until Trump does it. Then it’s an ouuuutraaaage!

Guess what? I don’t care when Trump does it either.

Does it matter?

Yes. When we elect someone to the highest office in the land we expect them to act like an adult and one who is very, seriously scared of offending any particular group.

We expect the person in the Oval Office to set aside the "rough and tumble" of normal campaign rhetoric...and in some cases (Trump) we expect them to grow up and stop calling people by ridiculous schoolyard bully-type names.

Trump needs to be cognizant that no matter how "innocent" his comments may be (and I assume he wasn't INTENDING to imply that his administration would throw political dissidents into concentration camps), he needs to remember HOW THESE CAN BE SEEN.

I don't recall anybody objected to the use of that symbol then. No all of the sudden Trump does it, and Facebook changes the rules in the middle of the game to have an excuse to take down Trump's posts. Good thing Trump doesn't care about those rules...

No, no it's not a "good thing". Trump is president of ALL Americans, whether he likes it or not. It isn't up to him to pick and choose which are the "ok" Americans. We all know that some things about some people will turn Trump off (too much melanin etc.) but that doesn't matter. In his role as the head of America's Executive Branch he MUST attempt to reach out to EVERYONE.

His win in 2016 was predicated on a good strategy aimed at a few electoral-heavy areas. But he DIDN'T win the majority of American votes. And with his disastrous handling of COVID as well as the eternal implications that he is willing to sell out America to whichever dictator who can help him win re-election, he needs to be doubly serious about at least LOOKING like he cares about Americans.

The question remains as to why the Trump and his Campaign are so oblivious as to hand his opponents the very "excuses" for taking down his posts - hasn't anybody in his camp ever heard of doing their "due diligence" before having their knuckles rapped in public!

Trump's appeal to a certain segment of society may be that he doesn't care about the rules and political correctness, but with a Constitution based on the principle of "checks and balances," that approach is the very antithesis to the government envisioned by the Founding Fathers!

As you and a sad segment of our country have made clear, you don’t care what Trump does anymore.

Trump's appeal to a certain segment of society may be that he doesn't care about the rules but in the 21stC that approach severely limits a President's ability to implement his agenda!

This is key. Trump clearly figured out in the run-up to 2016 that there was a subset of Americans with relatively unpleasant attitudes toward people of color that he could get support from. I didn't really blame Trump for having supporters like David Duke (you can't pick who supports you) but after Charlottesville and Trump's repeated inability to find fault with neo-nazis as a whole but his EASE at demonizing entire swaths of left-wingers it became harder to grant him that "pass". It looks so much like he is currying favor in those dark corners.

I honestly doubt that this inverted triangle thing was a planned action by Trump. Maybe Stephen Miller could be that "crafty" but it's more likely that they just randomly chose something that might have been used by some Antifa person at some point (ironically), who knows. But I'm trying to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. But that gets harder and harder with each passing day and each passing faux pas that the Trump campaign keeps making.

Looking at the other two ads - one used a "slow" street sign, and the other used construction themed imagery, perhaps they intended to use a "yield" sign.

Yes, I am being overly generous...
Yes! Who knew that all this time the yield sign was a Nazi dog whistle.

My thoughts? As a person of color I believe that people are trying way to hard to justify their hatred of the president.

But you have to admit that Trump makes it very easy to see the worst in him. If he's really a nice guy who cares for all people he does such an excellent job of hiding that fact that you have to wonder why.

Also: he's the President of the United States. The most powerful single person on earth. It shouldn't be that hard to vet outgoing messages and tweets to ensure they don't inadvertantly offend someone. But the fact that he keeps doing it kinda makes you think he doesn't CARE and might even ENJOY it.

Why should they, as long as he hurts the people they want hurt.

How hypocritical for Trump supporters to complain about the "hatred of the president" in defense of an individual who literally wrote the book on spreading "hatred!"

You only care when they gays do something back in the 90s?

Yes! Who knew that all this time the yield sign was a Nazi dog whistle.

Doesn't fly. They clearly were able to have "slow" and a black line border around one and the caution bars with the a pictograph representing "under construction" around the other one. A yield sign is not just a upside down red triangle. It has a white field with the word "yield" on it. And when it is represented by only a triangle it's either white or yellow.

The upside down red triangle has a specific meaning and we did nazi that coming.

Also of note though maybe a bit conspiratorial is the fact that the ads with this symbol ran 88 times on social media and there are 14 words (counting "far-left" as a single word) in the first sentence which could be a reference to the Nazi 14/88 numerology.

He enjoys distracting his political opponents with meaningless nonsense because he knows they are incapable of ignoring it. That is why he is able to get away with so much.

Well ask yourself who at Facebook decides what gets removed and what doesn't? There, I am sure you will find a whole office who hates him.

The president wrote a book on spreading hatred? Can you please provide a reference?

I just had to look up the Nazi triangle code. I had no idea.

How do you figure? Are you assuming that everyone hates Donald, therefore Facebook must hate him too?

Not everyone. But I wouldn't consider Facebook to be the shining example of objectivity. To be fair. I did do a little research into the whole "red triangle" thing. I was actually suprised.
