Why 66 books?

Not sure if this is proper thread for this question but why are there 66 books in the Bible did that just happen to be the # of inspired books? I mean i see 66 and u almost think of mark of the beast.

66 = 6+6 = 12 = 1+2 = 3 (# of wholeness)

666 = 6+6+6 = 18 = 1+8 = 9 (# of judgement)

The books in the Bible are all there because they are His (God inspired/"God-breathed") words.

The Christian canon has 72 books, depending on how they are numbered. The 66 books of the modern protestant bible is based on the later Jewish canon of the old testament. The number of books has no particular relevance.

Though I don't hold it to be numerologically relevant, you can think of it as God's letter addressed to Man.

Just because God assigned 666 to the devil, it doesn't mean that number belongs to the devil, it belongs to God.

72 is 6 more than the 66 in the OP. Maybe that's the missing 6 in the OP?----66+6.

I'm not being serious of course, yet it does add up to what the OP thinks the 66 books almost make you think of, when you add this other 6 books to the 66 like this.
