  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What did you last eat?!

What fish is in a taco, never had one.
thanks and my building took about 10 months.

This batch was made with batter fried cod.

That’s not a long time. You must be pleased. :)

I am, i always knew the cast iron post were covered up with the wooden square post. I had thought one day to expose the cast iron post. Just did not plan to take my whole front down to do it. But the building looks much better and fits better aesthetically to the actual age of the building 1920"s.

I bought me a sand blaster for the metal that was a good learning experience.

That must have been really fun! :D

I spent time on construction sites with my dad as a child and helped my grandfather in his wood shop. I think both influenced my love of building and interiors to some degree. Our conversation reminded me how much I enjoy remodeling projects. Transforming a space is really fulfilling.

It's difficult to pick a favorite, but I do loves me some raw salmon. :yum: On a somewhat related note, I enjoy raw oysters too.

I actually enjoy the intense spices in Indian food. It's such a unique experience compared to indulging in other cuisines.
I cannot say I have had tried raw oysters. :sorry:

A piece of Louisiana Creme Cake.

If you want every bit of old paint off that's the way to go.

As i get older, it is the times spent in youth that can really provide inspiration and influence. Glad you have those those memories and influence.

As kids, me and a few friends were all ways making things. i still have this book (found it one day up in the attic a year or so ago) i bought at school and was planning to make everything in the book.

I remember my parents always had a garden, i never remember buying vegetables from the store (unless it was something they did not grow). But i never really participated in the making and tending of the garden as a kid.
When i was grown, my dad had a bad stroke that basically put him in a wheel chair (for the rest of his life) and that was when i really began to learn about gardening. Because he still wanted a garden so i would start it and maintain, i am glad now. That has been an influence to me now and probably why i stated my tomatoes.

My grandfather kept the garden. My grandmother attended to her flowers. We didn’t get involved with either. Though I helped on occasion with gathering apples for pie making. But it wasn’t a chore. They didn’t believe in that.

That’s a wonderful tribute to your father. Honor is an important quality and I love hearing examples (like the one you’ve shared) where children pay homage to their parents in positive ways.

La famille est tout is my motto. :)

Also, having a BBQ and bacon burger currently. Gonna grill up some salsa ingredients later and then going all out Mexican tonight. Muhahahah.

Just try and stop me. :ebil:
