The inner battle
Will the battle ever be over my Lord?
There is so much depth in each human being,
that only you can see, and understand.

There are days when I seem bombarded,
first anger, then lust, impatience, and fatigue,
yet I know that you are with me in all of this.

It is simply being human, and I must walk this path,
that is what we humans do, struggle to keep balance,
trust, to look at you and not at ourselves and to grow
in the knowledge that all we can give you is our poverty,
failures, and yes the love that is your grace given freely,
yet we must respond.

Let us Lord, ever to keep our inner world open to your
loving gaze, for you are truly our healing physician. --Br.MD

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." (ESV) - Romans 8:18-25

One of my favorite chapters in Romans. Thanks for sharing.

(This is the same scripture that came to my mind after reading the OP. You beat me to it. I use the ESV too.)
