  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Stop Running Away

Before reaching the wounds, we must discover our disorders. Acquiring knowledge of our wounds is a process. As we dig within ourselves, before reaching the wounds, we discover layers of disordered tendencies that are affecting our behavior. A disorder is any behavior that is not virtuous, including bad attitudes. These must be exposed and brought to our consciousness by the light of the Holy Spirit. This requires that we be attentive to how we think and feel in situations that trigger those bad attitudes and disorders in us. These include discomfort, anxiety, fear, anger… For example, we come in contact with authoritarian and demanding persons, and we find that our reaction is to avoid them by running away. We find that we feel fear, insecurity, and inadequacy. Another example: we notice that we are unable to say “no” when we should; then we feel resentment, anger, and frustration because we acted just to please. Ask yourself, “Why?”

The Love Crucified Community. The Simple Path to Union with God (pp. 113-114). Kindle Edition.

When we allow our fears to dictate our lives, it leads to frustration and stagnation. Struggling with destructive habits, we often believe they will alleviate our inner suffering. However, true improvement comes when we confront these habits head-on. Freedom is gained by swimming against the current, requiring time, patience, and unwavering trust in God's grace. Success and setbacks are part of the journey, and we must face our tendency to self-criticism when we fail. Trusting in God is the sure path to inner healing. Grace works deep within our souls, often hidden from our eyes, freeing us from the need to understand every detail of God’s workings.-Br.MD

What you've shared is very important. Because hurt people hurt people.
And in hurting others, they are hurting again themselves, too.

If a wound is not addressed and healed, it continues to serve as a catalyst for hurtful, often destructive, behavior.

Jesus came into this world to heal the brokenhearted.
It is in honesty before Jesus, that our healing begins.

Teresa of Avila emphasized the importance of self-knowledge. She believed that without a clear understanding of oneself, one cannot truly understand God or strive for holiness. The first step in a life of holiness and union with God is self- knowledge.

... So it would seem the stakes are pretty high, if one chooses to continue to run from what is true.
