We atheists have seen Christians dance around this one for years. It still tickles me that you folks refuse to accept the obvious here despite the fact that your entire religion is founded upon human sacrifice.

Why does lord want a share of Virgins?

Whatever we receive, we dedicate some of it to the Lord's service instead of taking everything for ourselves. Its not that the Lord wants anything or anybody. The answer is right there in the very next verse:

And Moses gave the tribute, which was the contribution for the Lord, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses. Numbers 31:41

They will be dedicated to work in the service of the temple. The Lord had a temple and a share is given to the temple for working there. Moses handed over all of temple's share to the Priest because Priest is in the position of handling the duties at the temple under the Lord's authority.

Always read the whole passage, a share of the plunder including the girls was given to the Levites who had not been in battle. See v 29 and 401.

You guys are silly. Pretending it says something else like we wouldn't look it up.

They weren't given to the Lord's service or given to the Levites. It says they were given to Eleazar the priest as the Lord's share. You give something to God by giving it to a priest who then slashes its throat and spreads its flaming guts out on the altar of sacrifice. God loves the smell of burning flesh. Everyone knows that!

What if I told you that I think that Christians really don't believe but they choose to believe because it makes them feel comforted. What what you say?

Yes, we give something to God by giving it to the priest at the temple.

When a vast majority of people stop using 'God' in their daily conversations, stop making endless unfounded assertions, etc, is when you will immediately stop seeing some unbelievers challenge such claims.

Much the same as if millions/billions of adults started to proclaim the 'bogey man' for making them 'do it.' You would then start to see challenge much in the same way.
