CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Being that it was an almost partisan impeachment (which Pelosi didn't want), it helps him. If he ends up winning again in November, it would be vindication by the voters themselves. The message that would send would be powerful. (I know I just invited a response there!

It remains to be see what kind of long term effects Donald's acquittal will have on his character. A brush with consequences might teach him humility as the GOP senators have expressed hope for, or, emboldened by the fact that he is now legally untouchable, he may become even more insufferably obnoxious than even his worst detractors portray him as.

Not much of one. I think many of us are pretty much resigned to it. I'm an old guy and keep a relatively low profile. Quite a few front doors will be kicked in before anybody gets around to mine.Being that it was an almost partisan impeachment (which Pelosi didn't want), it helps him. It's kind of weird that so many people are resigned to Trump winning, and yet there are people here who keep showing me polls where Trump loses no matter which democrat may run against him. Meanwhile, the democrats on the debate stage seem concerned about getting a nominee who will actually win. If those polls are correct, the candidates don't seem to believe them.
I doubt any doors will get kicked in unless Trump wins. That's what the rioters were doing for Trump's inauguration.

And what role will Russia play? I know you are not allowed to believe that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 election, but absolutely nothing has been done to stop them trying it again.
Of course. It's a necessary part of creating a one-party state that the more vocal dissidents are rounded up and disappeared.

It only seems "sudden" to those who have convinced themselves that Russia made no attempt to influence the 2016 election.
The elimination of a political party which the President has deemed to be an enemy of the state.

But why are you suddenly bringing it into the discussion? We were talking about the impeachment, and now you suddenly start talking about Russia.
Elimination? I don't recall Trump having ever even hinting at such a thing. Are you sure you're not just making up something to accuse Trump of?

He has a black employee so he can’t be racist?
If Trump fired him, your side would be accusing Trump of being racist. He didn't fire him, and now you still believe he must be racist.
What would Trump have to do to convince you otherwise? FYI: Saying, "He would need to stop being racist" is not a valid argument. That type of argument only shows how weak your position is.

Apologizing for what he put in the newspaper about the Central Park Five, and admitting that his "both sides" remark about Charlottesville was poorly handled would be a great start.
But Trump rarely, if ever, admits wrongdoing of any kind so I'm not holding my breath.

I understand. It's just that it seems that when the side that doesn't like someone plays the race card, it never gets withdrawn, no matter what the evidence. When a person is labeled as racist, it doesn't matter if they have black friends, black employees, or even a black spouse. All evidence to the contrary of the racist accusation is dismissed as irrelevant.
