In context, "religious freedom" is about abortion and LGBT. Gun control and border security are not Christian moral issues and for the Trump administration to be talking about election security is nothing but a sick joke.

I understand that folks believe that what Trump has done is worse than anything that any other president has done in the history of the US, and he must be the first one to be kicked out.

Agreed. Trump has had a tough time of it lately, but there's a time and place for venting.

Oh Sondland's fired, too. A million dollars can buy you an ambassadorship, but it can't buy you Trump's love if you rat on him.

An adviser to Trump said the firings of the major impeachment witnesses was meant to send a message that siding against the President will not be tolerated.

They don't have to twist anything. The only two moral issues they have are abortion and LGBT.

It's truly ironic to hear some conservatives judge and condemn Mayor Pete because he's gay and in a same-sex marriage. I mean, these are the same people who support a twice divorced man in his third marriage to his former mistress and he fathered five children with three different women. They have a moral dilemma with liberals supporting a gay man, but they don't have a moral dilemma supporting a twice divorced thrice married man, who paid off his porn star mistress to keep her quiet about their affair. Does "No one is sinless!" and "I voted for a President, not a pastor!" not apply to gay people?

I will seriously eat crow if, were Pete Buttigeg to ever become President, I don't hear more than 5 occasions in the first few months of his term alone where a conservative relative or talk show host or someone like that doesn't express outrage over the fact that America has become so "morally bankrupt" and/or "turned away from God" that she dared to elect a homosexual as its leader.

I was being facetious and pointing out the moral inconsistency that consists within that party. It once exalted itself as the political party of Christian morality and values, but that claim has been diminished in the last four years of Trump. I don't know if it will ever be able to restore its credibility and respect.

Because Donald, in both his words and actions, has made it clear that he likes to go after his enemies' families.

But isn't that how great men of power operate? It's like the old Soviet Union where if a family member was found disloyal to the Party the rest of the family suffered as well. This is just how things get done. A few innocent people get hurt but in the end the powerful man is able to achieve his goals, which, in this case, are the greatness of our country.

Trump is a "counterpuncher" which means if someone punches him they have to remember that maybe Trump will punch their mom in return. It seems like maybe a pretty solid and efficient means of getting what he wants and the rest of the country gets to reap the benefits!

Don't get me wrong: I feel bad for Vindman's brother, but now everyone knows that Trump will NOT put up with disloyalty.
