Pea-soupers were common when I was young, caused by smoking coal fires and factories using coal. It was a ghastly yellow green colour tinged with grey, and towns and villages couldn't be seen from the hills. At its worst, usually in November trying to cross the road was highly dangerous. Then we had laws banning smoke and smokeless coal arrived and cleaner air.So you guys have a lot of fog, too...
What do you call it over there, pea-soupers?
