As Jesus said, “Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.”

A modern example is proved statistically. In households where there is a gun, someone is more likely to be shot than in households without guns. Too many times fighting families shot each other or themselves. Suicide is more common than murder.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”

Who is meek? Some definitions of meek are gentle, yielding, patient and long suffering. One might add diligent, studious and helpful.

Amen. It describes exactly what was Satan's sin, and that was "coveting". He "coveted" the living God and wanted to oust Him from his throne, and replace "himself" on it and to be worshiped "as God". It was Satan's "Achille's Heel", so to speak. Man has the same "Achilles Heel" and thus the same "coveting" which stems from pride and self-will, the very thing that began in Lucifer's heart, aka Satan, God's adversary. We are ALL adversaries of God until we are covered with the righteousness of our Savior, Who shed His blood and died for us.

I lived in high crime areas before and practiced non-violence after reading the Gospels over and over. There were times non-violence got me out of trouble. My bad temper got me in trouble prior to me being drawn to study Christianity. I used Google to find information about gun violence statistics to support stricter gun control laws like Europe has. They do not have high chain linked fences around their K-12 schools to keep mass shooters out. Some schools in my area have fences. We used to have school fire drills when I was a child. Now they have mass shooter drills.

In a different thread I listed some of the disadvantages of life in the wilderness where they do not have public utilities or enough cell towers. I have high speed broadband in my current location.

Thanks for the internet suggestions, Bob. I live in a complex that does not allow satellites, etc. but i appreciate the suggestions. i'll keep searching for options, and praying that God intervenes as only He can.
