But man is still capable of hearing.

Romans 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Sorry J, we have free will; it is just that not all will listen to what they HEAR. It is still up to us and the sovereignty God gave man when He made us in His likeness.
Yet the natural man thinks the things of God are foolishness and cannot understand them since they have not the spirit of God.

I’ll stick with my previous post with all those scriptures telling us God must open up the eyes of the blind to see, give the deaf hearing.

hope this helps !!!

26 biblical reasons man cannot chose or come to God in his own free will( whatever that unbiblical concept means)

1-Man by nature is deceitful (Jer. 17:9),
2-Man is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23)
3-Man loves darkness (John 3:19),
4-Man does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12),
5-Man is ungodly (Rom. 5:6),
6-Man is dead in his sins (Eph. 2:1),
7-Man by nature is a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3),
8-Man cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14),
9-Man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:16-20)
10-Man is sinful at birth, sinful from the time of conception (Psalm 51:5)
11-Man is like a filthy rag his garments stained by sin and is unrighteous ( Is 64:6)
12-Man is hostile towards God and cannot submit to Him or His law ( Rom 8:7)
13-Man cannot do good and is completely incapable of such an act ( Rom 3:12)
14-Man is not born with faith so everything is done in sin ( Rom 14:23)
15-Man has not one single thing that is good in him ( Rom 7:18)
16-Man is born condemned ( John 3:18)

10 reasons semi pelagians are wrong !

1)man is deceitful (Jer. 17:9)
2)man is full of evil (Mark 7:21-23)
3)man loves darkness (John 3:19),
4)man does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12),
5)man is ungodly (Rom. 5:6),
6)man is dead in his sins (Eph. 2:1),
7)man by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3),
8)man cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14),
9)man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:16-20)
10)man is sinful in the womb and conceived in sin(Psalm 51:5)

Salvation is of, by, through the Lord period end of story.

hope this helps !!!
Funny how we are able to make everyday decisions but when it comes to our Lord and Savior our ability to choose is rendered inert. Not buying it.

God gives all a measure of faith. It is up to us what we do with it. If we choose darkness over light, there we will remain.

Revelation 22:11 our state when we die.
We are made righteous by faith. So if God gives all of us faith, then all must be righteous.

Let me ask you this. Are your decisions based upon your nature?

Good Day,

I disagree:

2 Thes 3 Finally, brothers, pray for us, that kthe word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored,as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith

Paul say not all men have Faith, that seems very clear.

In Him,

Bill

In the image of God. Animals are run by nature.
So why do you think Paul makes a distinction?

Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
— Ephesians 2:3

But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
— 1 Corinthians 2:14

Hearing by the word of God.

Yes those passages should silence the critics.

The major problem with Christianity is we think God acts and thinks like we do ( fallen human and sinful beings) . His ways and His thoughts are far above ours as is stated in scripture. Who can know the mind of the Lord ?

There are allot of things I don’t necessarily like in Scripture but who am I to argue with God, the thing molded does not say to the potter why have you made me this way. It’s up to the Potter.

We are made righteous by faith. So if God gives all of us faith, then all must be righteous.

1 John 3:
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

Paul was making a distinction between a regenerated man and a natural man who is not regenerated through the Holy Spirit. "Nature" is used to express the "condition" of one's relationship and or status in the Body of Christ in other words, part of the Kingdom of God or not. The first verse is in past tense, signifying the former condition. The second verse is even more clear on the spiritual condition of a man who has not been regenerated in His Holy Spirit.

There are all kinds of faith. A heathen still trusts his heathen father and mother. That is faith. The Good Samaitan did good. Was it just filthy rags?

There is Unconditional Molinism (Calvinism Lite) and Conditional Molinism (Arminianism).
I wonder if in your understanding Thomism can essentially be reconciled with Calvinism (XL - ie not Calvinism Lite!)

You couldn't hear your mother calling you for breakfast? Are all deaf, dumb, and blind until God opens our ears, eyes, and mouth? That is not what I'm saying, so you are twisting my meaning.

Where do you believe the faith to believe in Jesus comes from? From hearing the Word of God.

Hello, thank you for putting up all those points that shows how weak, sinful and wretched are we as human beings...slaves to sin and without hope at all...except the Grace of our God and our Lord given so we can be redeem from a position where we as human cannot be able to free and redeem ourselves.....that is the Good news for us sinners....

But, somehow people in their own knowledge or wisdom still think that they can know God without God chose to reveal Himself to them which is where our Faith begins and ends. ..

Thank you again for putting those points up for those who put their hope in the work of God in our hearts.....

You do understand that there’s a change, right? That’s why he said we formerly lived like that. We no longer do. Our nature has been changed. Those in flesh cannot please God.

I’m not sure what this has to do with my comment.

Some believe they have faith in Christ, but believe He covers our sins while we keep committing them, and the righteousness we have is merely imputed righteousness, but we, ourselves, are sinners. That doctrine is heresy.

That is not what Jesus accomplished. He freed us from sin, itself, and gave us His Spirit to keep free from sin, so the righteousness we practice makes US righteous, because only the righteous and the holy will enter heaven. Revelation 22:11 He that continues to sin is a slave to sin and will not enter heaven. He is unrighteous and filthy.
