work. It's based on living a "good" life, but some hell-
containing religions like Christianity say that relying on
one's own goodness is just the thing that can be ones downfall,
soteriologically, because one isn't supposed to rely on
personal goodness, but on Jesus's perceived goodness.
What constitutes a "good", heaven-bound person depends
on the god-concept involved.

Yes but for people who know God and the gospel, for they you are making a terrible decision, and we must try to change your mind, or God needs to change your mind. There is a commandment given by God to everyone: repent. And if you reject this forever you are screwed! we are actually trying to save your hide.
