A person close to the president told the Times that Trump's decision to change his primary residence was largely for tax purposes. The person also cited Trump's frustration with the Manhattan district attorney's lawsuit seeking his tax returns.

Trump and Cuomo are longtime adversaries, with the president repeatedly going after the governor over the state's investigations into his business and finances.

i suspect that the sentiment is mutual from Trump, since he initiated switching his residence out of NY.

I grew up next to Donald Trump's golf resort in Palos Verdes. I literally learned the words "huckster" and "scofflaw" because of how neighbors characterized his deceptive, cruel, manipulative, crass conduct over the years. He callously cheated the school district out of a windfall; bullied via litigation to break laws and get his vainglorious way; was sued by female staffers for his appallingly inappropriate conduct and had to settle. He brazenly and brutishly disregarded laws and civility. Rather than ever showing any love for his neighbors he felt entitled to be abusive from the start. And I doubt he paid his taxes here either.

Good riddance is right. He's a native New Yorker but is disdained by many there and had humiliating single digits in the voting precincts around his own neighborhood. He's not a good neighbor. Let Florida keep him.

Politics having its own sub-forums, at least, keeps it out of the mainstream sub-forums. And sometimes it overlaps with Christian concerns, like Fetal Rights, etc.

For the most part, I don't pay much attention to the rhetorical propaganda that passes for political "news" these days.

Bank fraud and tax fraud are both felonies, which are unquestionably "high crimes" as defined by the Constitution...

It seems that Trump was referring to NY's animosity to him. It doesn't mean that he doesn't love NYC itself. He HAD to love NY for living there all those years, and his history of helping NYC out, one time in particular when it involved a less costly and better way to either renovate or rebuild the UN building there.

No doubt Trump can be an annoying jerk, but I didn't vote for him because I thought he'd be a good neighbor. People aren't voting for good neighbors. That's not a prerequisite. Better a jerk than a butt kisser. Trouble is everyone expects a president to be someone they'd like to live next door to. Maybe they shouldn't think that way. President and good neighbor are not the same job description.

I think thats a mistake.

The bad behavior noted a few posts above indicates a person who is totally about self enrichment and self aggrandizement at the expense of others, which is precisely what we dont want in a president. Not me anyway.

New York, being what it is, will still attempt to charge him for income tax, even after he leaves. Never do business with New York if you can help it.
